The cast and crew of Chicago Med were all ready to go to work today, but instead, they are on a two-week break. That is because a crew member, who was in close proximity to the cast and crew, tested positive for COVID-19. Deadline reports this is the second person to test positive for coronavirus. The other person got the results on September 24th.
They are not the only show who is on a pandemic break, so are several series that film in Vancouver, according to Deadline. Riverdale, A Million Little Things, Charmed, Batwoman, The Mighty Ducks, Nancy Drew, and Maid, have been on pause for the last several days. Not because someone tested positive. It is because they are waiting for the test results to come back. The delay of the test results is delaying the start of production for Supergirl, Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
The only show that does not have to worry about any of this is Supernatural. They already wrapped production.
Little by little, television production is getting back to normal. Well, as normal as it can be during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Friday, the cast, including Mariska Hargitay and the producers of Law & Order: SVU, had their first table reason for the season. It was unlike any other they had ever done in 21 years because they did it on Zoom. However, their 22nd season is unlike any other one in television history.
Today, they went back to filming, and everyone looks different than they did six months ago. That is because they are all wearing masks. Another change is that they have to get tested every day. Not fun. But at least they are working.
Hopefully, they will all stay Corona-, so that we can get new episodes sooner rather than later.
NBC is the first network to announce when some of our favorite scripted shows will be back. However, we will have to wait until October 22nd for the first one to premiere. That honor goes to Superstore, where we will say goodbye to America Ferrera. Then in November, we will get This Is Us, One Chicago, Law & Order: SVU, and The Blacklist.
We will have to wait until 2021 for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Good Girls, Making It, Manifest, New Amsterdam, and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Plus, new series Kenan, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Mr. Mayor, That’s My Jam, Small Fortune, True Story, Who Do You Think You Are? and Young Rock.

While television scripted shows in Canada and Los Angeles are back filming, it has taken a little longer for NYC shows to be given the go-ahead. That is because the city was hit very hard by the COVID-19. New York based Law & Order: SVU sadly suffered the loss of one of their crew members, Josh Wallwork, to coronavirus back in March.
Yesterday, Ice T revealed that he got the first script for season 22, and said that he is expecting to go back to work in mid-September. As excited as he is about it, he added, “Should be interesting with all the new safety protocols.”
It will also be interesting to see if they will be filming inside more this season as compared to the past. SVU defintely used the city as its backdrop in almost every episode. I hope they can still do it because NYC desperately needs the money to make up for all of its lossese of Broadway and tourism.
When I was a kid, I used to look forward to going to Burger King so that I could get one of those paper crowns. It made me feel like a princess. Heck, I would wear one now if they gave it to me.
I am not the only one who feels that way. Taylor Kinney is driving on his motorcycle from Chicago to Pennsyltucky, and he stopped at the Home of the Whopper to get something to eat. On the way out, he proudly showed off his BK crown. The Chicago Fire star might be 38, but he is not too old to feel like a kid!
Personally, Burger King should make him their mascot! He is so hot, he could flame broil their hamburgers just by walking by them.
