Tonight was ’80s night on Dancing with the Stars, and the dancers shot an opening for the show. They put on wigs, dressed up in their workout clothes, and did aerobics. Do you know what? I would watch that show faster than the one that is hosted by Tyra Banks!
Who doesn’t like to get lost in aerobics or Jazzercise videos on YouTube? It is more intense than a Tango. It is quicker than the Quickstep. It is more fun than Paso Doble. Forget dancing; this is the way to go. Don’t you agree?
Dancing with the Stars screwed up when they fired Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, and then they hired Tyra Banks to replace them. Tonight, she screwed up when she announced the wrong bottom two.
Her first mistake was there were three couples left on the stage when she announced who was in the bottom two. Then, when she announced which two couples were there, she got it wrong. The former model said it was Anne Heche and Keo Motsepe, and Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroyd. However, the latter couple was safe, and Monica Aldama and Valentin Chmerkovskiy were not.
When Banks was live on the air, she blamed the control room. However, after the show, she tweeted, “Wowzers. Live TV. Wrong name on cards. So challenging to deal with moments like these. But we power through.” So which one is it?
The biggest mistake of all was thinking she could handle hosting on live television. She cannot. We knew that after America’s Got Talent. Hopefully, ABC will correct their mistake and get a new host for their next season.
Oh, and whoever is dressing her from head to toe is doing as bad of a job as her hosting.
While he will not be a judge on the show, ABC promises to find a way to incorporate him into the dancing competition.
So who will be sitting in his chair? Derek Hough. The 6-time DWTS champion said on Good Morning America he is excited to be going home.
While I am not a fan of his, the fans of the show love those Houghs. Personally, I wish they would have gone with Maksim Chmerkovskiy or Karina Smirnoff because they keep it real.
Is the lesser Hough enough to make you tune in with Tyra Banks as the new host? They are so going to regret the latter decision.
Back in July, Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron were fired from Dancing with the Stars for Tyra Banks. Now we know the cold way that producers told the sportscaster she was being let go from the show.
Extra’s Jenn Lahmers asked how it happened and if it was a surprise. “It was a surprise,” Andrews said. “I got a phone call and I answered the phone. I was like, ‘This isn’t good.’” That is ice cold. After all of the time she had been with the show, you think they could have handled it better.
How does she feel about Tyra filling her dancing shoes? Andrews said, “She can nail the smizing and the walking in gowns and heels, so good for her.” She is a better woman than I am because I would have just said, “I wish well,” with an eye roll.
Good Morning America announced who will be dancing on Dancing with the Stars this season. They needed a group of celebs to combat the negative publicity they have received for firing Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews for Tyra Banks. Did they get it? Not al all.
Celebrities:
head coach Monica Aldama (“CHEER”)
animal activist Carole Baskin (“Tiger King”)
Kaitlyn Bristowe (“The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette”)
Super Bowl Champion Vernon Davis
TV and film actress Anne Heche
Disney Channel actress Skai Jackson
actress Justina Machado (“One Day at a Time”)
Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean
Emmy® Award-winning host of “The Real” Jeannie Mai
TV and film actor Jesse Metcalfe
GRAMMY®-winning rapper Nelly
TV host Nev Schulman (“Catfish”)
NBA superstar Charles Oakley (“The Last Dance”)
actress Chrishell Stause (“Selling Sunset”)
Olympic figure skater and on-air commentator Johnny Weir
Once again, they went with controversial people to get ratings. Tiger King’s Carole Baskin is one of the most controversial people of the year. Anne Heche recently spoke out about her ex Ellen DeGerneres, so I am sure they want her to do more. Chrishell Stause was dumped by her ex-husband This Is Us’ Justin Hartley via text. The rest are a lot of snoozers. However, I really like Jesse Metclafe and Jeannie Mai.
Is there anyone that has you excited enough to tune in on Spetember 14th?
