Céline Dion started the new year off with a cold and because of it she has been forced to cancel all of her shows since January 6th. She was supposed to resume shows tonight and tomorrow, but she announced on Facebook that they too will not be happening.
We regret to inform you that the performances of Céline at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace scheduled for Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20 have been cancelled. Céline has been suffering for the past week from congestion and irritation of the vocal chords due to a lingering cold, and her physician has instructed her to rest until these symptoms clear up completely.
Céline is expected to resume performances at The Colosseum as scheduled on March 27.
Céline, Caesars Palace, and AEG Presents apologize for any inconvenience this causes ticket holders.
Hopefully by then her voice will be back to perfection. I think with the power of love that will happen.
Celine Dion has already cancelled 3 shows over the last week and a half, and today she was forced to do the same for the next 2 performances.
Her people posted this message about the most recent cancellations on Facebook, “We regret to inform you that tonight’s and tomorrow night’s performances (Tuesday, January 16 and Wednesday, January 17) of Céline at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been cancelled. Céline has been suffering for the past week from congestion and irritation of the vocal chords due to a lingering cold, and her physician has instructed her to rest for the next 48 hours in order for her to fully recover.” They they added that she is expected to be back on stage this Friday.
Hopefully she will be better soon, because she has one of those voices that should not be silenced for too long.
Celine Dion was on The Tonight Show yesterday and Jimmy Fallon challenged her to a game of Wheel of Impressions. Basically they each are given an artist and they had to sing a song in that singer’s style.
The NBC host got Michael Jackson and Johnny Cash, both of which were impressive. But he could not compete to songstress. She started out with a tame Cher, but then she really let herself go when she got Rihanna. So much so, I never knew that the prim and proper musician can be a lot more than just that. She really embodied the Umbrella singer so much, it was anything but disturbia. Then it was time for one last impression and she got Sia. Sia would take off her wig to Dion because she sounded like the original but better.
Celine should add this schtick to her Vegas residency. Not only would I love to hear her sing her hits, I’d also love to hear her sing other people’s as them. I’d pay a lot of money to see that!
Hugh Laurie and Celine Dion were on Late Night and Jimmy Fallon had them play a game of Password. Since both of them are singers, the one word Password was a song title. So to the two of them had to get their partner to guess the song. The NBC late night was with Vegas Crooner and the Jazz man played with The Roots “Captain” Kirk Douglas.
When I watched the first part of the game, I was going to tell you to watch just for Celine winning dance. Which is quite epic, BTW! But then they got a song title that was so awesome they will have you going crazy with laughter. It is mad good! It is so insane that it will have you go psychotic.
