Back in 1983, Cyndi Lauper sang a cover of Robert Hazard’s Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Did you know the song was originally recorded in 1979 by someone else before you read this? I didn’t either. I am blown away by this fact.
Anyways that is not the point of this post. I was going to say that even though the Lauper is 67, she is still a girl who wants to have fun in a bubble bath. Therefore, she printed a picture of the Titanic, glued it on to some popsicle sticks, drew a bath, got in, and lip-synched Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On. Now, my heart will go on forever for Cyndi Lauper.
Once I get over the fact that the woman I thought created an anthem for all of us girls actually didn’t. I haven’t been this stunned since I found out that Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock sampled Lyn Collins’ 1972 Think (About It) for It Takes Two. What song will be next?
For over a week, my friend and I have been wondering who will be the first celebrity to get the Coronavirus. We still do not have a winner. We also now know one person who it is not going to be.
Céline Dion canceled a few of her upcoming dates, and of course, everyone’s minds went there. Her people made sure to point out, “DUE TO COMMON COLD, CELINE DION POSTPONES COURAGE WORLD TOUR DATES IN WASHINGTON, D.C AND PITTSBURGH, PA.”
Since that will not be clear enough for everyone, they added, “On Monday night, a day after completing a six-show run in the New York area, Celine began feeling the symptoms of a common cold. The symptoms persisted into Tuesday, and her doctors instructed her to rest for the next 5-7 days. After testing her, the doctors concluded that her virus was not related to COVID-19.”
That is good because many hearts will not go one if anything happens to her.
Her canceled dates are postponed, and her Courage tour is expected to resume on March 24th in Colorado unless it gets canceled because of the Coronavirus like everything else.
The first time we heard My Heart Will Go On, we thought it was a pretty song. By the millionth time, we all hated it. For Céline Dion, she was not a fan of it before she even sang it.
She told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that the Titanic theme song did not appeal to her first and she rejected it. Her late husband René Angélil convinced her to record a demo of the tune and that first take is the version we know so well. They just added the orchestra to her vocals
Imagine if she said no. Would that single as iconic as it came? We will never know.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B4XV7G6HwWK/?igshid=jzw9uw5eja03 Céline Dion wore a huge white frilly gown to her concert in Minneapolis the other night and she reminded of wedding cake. All she needs a couple on top and the look would be perfect for any couples’ special day.
I am not saying the dress is not beautiful, it is. But I am saying it reminds me of a wedding cake. What do you think?
Céline Dion revealed the music video for her song Imperfections to the internet and that is not the only thing that she revealed. You can’t release a song called Imperfections without showing off some of your own.
Therefore, she sat down in front of her mirror and took off all of her makeup showing us what she really looks like. To be honest the 51-year-old looks no different. If we did not see her take off her mask, we never would have known.
