CBS is a Defender of Blue Bloods!
December 21st, 2010 under CBS. [ Comments: 2 ]

The #1 new show of the season (without DVR help) Blue Bloods will be testing out a new time slot in the new year. CBS announced today that it was giving the hit Friday night show a 4-week run on Wednesdays starting on January 19th. In turn they are moving The Defenders to Fridays at 8p to finish out its run for the season and then the new show Chaos will replace it on April 1st. Also ending its season early is Sh!t My Dad Says and it being replaced by the new Yes, Dear, Rules of Engagement on February 24th which is being replaced by the new sitcom Mad Love that Monday. Also joining the CBS lineup on February 16th is the Criminal Minds spinoff CM: Suspect Behavior which is joining the 2 NCISes, 3 CSIs and 3 Chuck Lorre sitcoms. BTW on that note congrats to NCIS for being the #! rated show of the season so far and knocking a reality show out of that honor. I also want to say hats off to Chuck Lorre for having the 3 top rated sitcoms on TV this season thus far.
When it comes to their choices, I am happy Blue Bloods is getting a test out on Wednesdays, but I really like The Defenders too and hope it gets a much needed ratings boost so it will be back next season, Because ending the season early like that is not boding well for the Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell legal drama nor William Shatner’s first attempt at a sitcom, on coming back in the fall. When it comes to Sh!t, the show has finally found its funny and I hope it is given a second chance.

The Mentalist directs himself!
November 18th, 2010 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p on CBS Simon Baker makes his The Mentalist directorial debut and he is just good behind the camera as he is in front of it. In tonight’s episode they are called in to investigate a case where three people have been murdered, 2 cops and EMT’s fiancé. They are having problems solving the case, getting resistance from the local force, but then a local astrologer says he has some clues to who has been committing the murders. Patrick Jane listens to what he says and believe me even if you are psychic you will never see who the murdered is… That and there is an ending that really proves what an amazing job the Aussie did as the director of the episode!

Allison Dubois sees Medium’s future and its dead
November 15th, 2010 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Patricia Arquette has seen the future of her CBS show Medium and it is dead. She told Entertainment Weekly simply, “we got canceled.” She added that she has been asking the writers how it is going to end and they won’t tell her. But this is what she knows, “I don’t know what it’s going to be, but they’re really excited about it. They’re like, `we’re just going to burn the whole thing down!’ I’m really excited.” I wonder if that mean that they will literally burn it down as in a party at Allison’s and the house catches on fire and everyone dies? Or who knows? As sad as I am that the show has met its fate, I am excited to see how it will end.
BTW the news is really not a surprise, last month when the network cut their episode order from 22 to 13 so the writing was pretty much on the wall.

CBS Five-0
October 21st, 2010 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS has picked all 5 of its new shows. That’s right Mike & Molly, Hawaii Five-0, The Defenders, Sh!t My Dad Says and Blue Bloods all got full season orders today. Personally I am shocked that Sh!t is still on the air because after I watched both versions of the pilots, I thought it was going to be the first show cancelled. Having said that, I still watch the show every week because I love William Shanter, dang show Shat. In fact I included the only scene from the show that has made me laugh so far. For some reason I think after I watch the 22nd episode, that will still be the only scene that got a chuckle out of me. Oh and I don’t blame the cast for this show sucking so bad, they are just stuck with the Shit the Writers Said.
Now when it comes to the other 4 shows, they have all been doing well in the ratings. Mike and Molly finally found its grove last week and Blue Bloods has already proved it is a force to be reckoned with. When it comes to Hawaii Five-O, I didn’t want to get suckered into another Alex O’Loughlin show that CBS would cancel. I have heard that The Defenders is actually quite good, if I had CBS on OnDemand I would check out the eps I missed. Oh well.
So what do you think of the pick ups?

An officer down on tonight’s heartwrenching Blue Bloods
October 15th, 2010 under CBS, NKOTB. [ Comments: none ]

On tonight’s episode of CBS’s Blue Bloods at 10p an officer finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. The happily married cop with a 6 year old son finds herself walking down the same street as a bank is being robbed. She pulls out her gun trying to stop them, but there are more of them and they get the fatal shot in but not before she gets a bullet in one of them. After we watch her shooting we see get to see how the police force deals with her death from finding her killer to going to her funeral.
Tom Selleck is so believable and compassionate as the police commissioner who not only deals with his force trying to find her killer, but also as man who talks to her family and offers support to them during their tough time. His father and former-police commissioner Len Cariou is with Selleck when he learns the news and he knows the father of one the bank robbers and confronts him about it. Donnie Wahlberg gives his best performance yet on the show and I can totally see him winning the Emmy as the cop who will do anything to solve crime. On Blue Bloods I almost forget that he is a New Kid on the Block because the Boston native really nails playing a NY police officer. On tonight’s episode we get a lot of insight into his character Danny. Not only do the men give such persuasive performances tonight, but there is a scene where the wives of the Reagan man talk about the fear of their husbands being shot during the line of duty. Besides the Reagan women Jennifer Esposito joins the show as Danny’s partner and she is one of the only people who can keep him check.
Get your tissues ready for an episode of Blue Bloods that shows you all the reactions of how everyone from the top of the police force down the bottom deals with the news that one of their own is lost. And make sure to watch it all the way through because there is something that Danny says that really explains who he is and it is 5 words that will stay with you throughout the series.
