The Good Wife’s Julianna Marguiles talks about Anthony Weiner
July 30th, 2013 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

If you are like me, then when you watched last week’s press conference with Anthony Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin, it reminded you of the series premiere of The Good Wife. The stare that Huma gave her husband was the same murderous look that Alicia Florrick gave her cheating husband, Peter.
Yesterday at the CBS TCA Summer Press Tour Day, Julianna Marguiles was asked what she thought of the press conference and her answer was interesting. At first she described Huma’s expression that was like if looks could kill, “My initial thought was she had the exact look that I tried to capture in the pilot when you first meet the Florricks and you see her standing behind her disgraced man, which was that of it’s such a it’s sort of a soulless look, like she was looking down.” Then she added, “She was, her body was empty. Her soul was somewhere else, and she was just going through the motions, which is what I think we tried to do in the pilot where you actually go on automatic pilot, and you go where you are told to go, but it doesn’t mean that’s really your real reaction.”
Then she shared her thoughts relating to the disgraced Mayoral candidate’s wife, “She hasn’t been given a chance to react yet. And my initial thought as me was just complete compassion and empathy for her because I think people are so quick to judge.” Then she explained how Huma might be able to relate to character, “And having played this character now for four, going on five years, I have I see it differently. And I think it’s really dangerous, with everyone being able to comment on someone’s downfall can be very damaging. And there was a headline in a New York newspaper that said, you know, ‘Tips for Huma from Alicia Florrick.’ And it went into this whole, thing that we did in the pilot where Alicia talks to one of her clients and says, ‘Don’t go don’t read the paper. Don’t turn on the television. Just go back to work. Just bury your head, and don’t be a Teflon pan, basically.'” So how does the multi-Emmy winner feel about that? She explained, “And I felt proud for a minute that we were part of maybe a solution for someone who is going through something difficult, and I also feel slightly guilty that it really is the gift that keeps on giving. I mean, in our next we are starting Season 5, and it feels brand new.”
A brand new episode of The Good Wife will air on CBS September 29th at 9p. Will there be an Anthony Weiner/Huma Abedin episode? We will just have to tune into this critically acclaimed show, that will hit the 100 episode milestone this season, to find out.

Unforgettable is back and don’t forget to watch it1
July 28th, 2013 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Unforgettable was wrongfully cancelled by CBS and they quickly learned they made a mistake. Instead of bringing back 2011-2012’s #1 new show in the fall, they decided to hold it for the summer.
Well in that time Unforgettable reformatted the show, and good procedural is now an great one. Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery) and Detective Al Burns (Dylan Walsh) are asked to help find a young girl, who has been kidnapped, by an elite task force within the NYPD. With Carrie’s memory and Burns backing her up, the two of them are unstoppable; but is that enough to find this little girl before it’s too late?
Then at 10p Carrie and Burns have officially left Queens for Manhattan and they’ve joined this elite task force. There next case puts Carrie in the line of fire as she goes undercover as a bank robber. Not just any bank robber, but one of the best in the world. How far will she go? Will she be caught as an undercover cop by the crew? You will have to tune in to find out.
The move from Queens to NY makes this cop drama different than the rest. I really like the change and think it made this strong show even stronger. Another change is they are not focusing on Carrie’s dead sister’s murder as much and just concentrating on the case, another change I approve of.
The one thing that hasn’t changed is Carrie’s Unforgettable memory and that also makes this show different than all the others.
So whether you watched season 1 or not, tonight is the perfect time to start watching Unforgettable.

The CBS fall/spring lineup is…
May 15th, 2013 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS announced their fall schedule today and there aren’t as many changes on their sked as the other networks. The biggest change is Mike and Molly is missing from the lineup even though the network now has added an extra hour of comedies on Thursday. That means that Person of Interest is moving Tuesdays at 10p. Two new shows took over Hawaii Five-0’s slot on Mondays at 10p. So where will Dano book them now? He will do that on Fridays at 9p before Blue Bloods.
Even though the other networks went pick up crazy and made a lot of drastic changes, CBS will still be #1 next year. They have the best lineup for the people. And I would be shocked if The Crazy Ones isn’t the #1 new comedy next year. I think ABC’s SHIELD will be the #1 new show and drama though.

Here CBS’s fall schedule:
MONDAY
8:00-8:30 PM HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
8:30-9:00 PM WE ARE MEN (N)
9:00-9:30 PM 2 BROKE GIRLS
9:30-10:00 PM MOM (N)
10:00-11:00 PM HOSTAGES (N)
INTELLIGENCE (Mid-Season) (N)

TUESDAY
8:00-9:00 PM NCIS
9:00-10:00 PM NCIS: LOS ANGELES
10:00-11:00 PM PERSON OF INTEREST (NT)

WEDNESDAY
8:00-9:00 PM SURVIVOR
9:00-10:00 PM CRIMINAL MINDS
10:00-11:00 PM CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION

THURSDAY
8:00-8:30 PM THE BIG BANG THEORY
8:30-9:00 PM THE MILLERS (N)
9:00-9:30 PM THE CRAZY ONES (N)
9:30-10:00 PM TWO AND A HALF MEN (NT)

Some shows were picked up for another season, but more were cancelled.
May 9th, 2013 under American Idol 9+, CBS, Kiefer Sutherland, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Next week the networks will announce their fall lineups, but today they are already saying which shows will be back and which ones won’t. CBS picked up it’s 20th show (which is about as many as NBC cancelled) for next season and that show is Criminal Minds. The CW still feels that Nikita has a fighting chance and The Carrie Diaries is still fashionable for them. NBC voted for another season of Parks and Recreation, but they impeached 1600 Penn, put Up All Night to sleep permanently, decided we don’t want to see any Guys with Kids and finally put Whitney out of our misery. When it comes to Fox, Randy Jackson told E! News that he voted himself off of American Idol after 12 seasons. Fox also decided that Kiefer Sutherland no longer has the Touch for them.
I always hate this time of year, my shows always get the bad news…:(
