Full season orders for ABC’s Brother and Sisters and CBS’s Close to Home
October 16th, 2006 under ABC, CBS. [ Comments: none ]

ABC has given a full-season order to "Brothers & Sisters," a freshman drama starring Calista Flockhart and Rachel Griffiths. The show had a tough act to follow in the Sunday 10 p.m. slot, taking over for red-hot medical drama "Grey’s Anatomy," which relocated to Thursday. In its four airings to date, it has averaged 12 million viewers, and won the 10 p.m. hour among adults 18-49. It also ranks as one of the top new series among affluent viewers. The ABC order takes its complement to 22 episodes. The show underwent a major prelaunch makeover that included Sally Field replacing Betty Buckley as the family matriarch. "Brothers & Sisters" is the second new ABC series and fourth overall to receive a full-season order, joining ABC’s "Ugly Betty," NBC’s "Heroes" and CBS’ "Jericho." Meanwhile, CBS’s sophomore drama "Close to Home" also has received a full-season order. It returned for a second season after a last-minute pickup in May. The show has also undergone some creative tweaking with several cast changes, including the addition of Davis James Elliott as the new boss of suburban prosecutor Annabeth Chase (Jennifer Finnigan).

I am blown away about B&S, but ABC’s new shows (minus Ugly Betty) are not doing that well. When it comes to CTH, so far I am not feeling this season.

K-Fed helps Grey’s Anatomy beat CSI
October 13th, 2006 under CBS, Shonda Rhimes. [ Comments: none ]

At 9 p.m., the battle of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy versus CBS’ CSI is shaping up as follows:

Thursday 9 p.m.
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
Overnights: 15.8/23 (#1), Viewers: 22.82 million (#1), A18-49: 9.3/22 (#1)

CSI (CBS)
Overnights: 14.4/21 (#2), Viewers: 21.58 million (#2), A18-49: 7.5/18 (#2)

Marc Berman

Wow! I sincerely thought that he was going to give CSI amazing numbers, but I guess I was wrong. I tried watching it, but man CSI has gotten so bad (and I am not referring to K-Fed) I just shut it off.
On a Grey’s note, poor McVet.

Don’t forget K-Fed on CSI tonight y’all!

I don’t watch CSI and even I am interested in watching Kevin Federline make his acting debut. I know it is going to be painful, but it is like a bad car wreck you have just have to look at it.

Mid-season replacements getting timeslots?
October 11th, 2006 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

NBC is expected to tap "Medium" to fill the 10 p.m. Wednesday slot vacated by "Kidnapped," reports Variety. Nothing’s official yet, but "Medium" is likely to return in mid-November. "Dateline NBC" is currently airing at 10 p.m. Wednesdays. Meanwhile, CBS has decided to bow new medical drama "3 Lbs." on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 10 p.m., replacing the now-canceled "Smith." Stanley Tucci toplines "3 Lbs.," which comes from executive producer Peter Ocko ("Boston Legal").

Coming Soon

I have a feeling (nothing concrete) that Medium will be back at Mondays at 10p and Studio 60 will move to Wednesdays at 10p.

Roger Daltrey to guest star on CSI!!!
October 10th, 2006 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

His voice opens every episode of the "CSI" franchise. Now the Who lead singer Roger Daltrey will appear on the mothership series, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." Daltrey is set to guest star on an upcoming episode of the hit series, which is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer TV, Alliance Atlantis and CBS Paramount Network TV. The show’s producers are keeping details about his character under wraps, calling it "a surprise role that will keep viewers guessing." The song "Who Are You" by the Who has served as the theme for "CSI" since the show’s launch in 2000. Two other Who songs, "Won’t Get Fooled Again" and "Baba O’Riley," are the themes for spinoffs "CSI: Miami" and "CSI: NY," respectively.

How bloody cool is that! If he doesn’t sing "Who are you?" it will be a bloody waste.
