Is CBS trying to lose viewers during the Super Bowl?
February 19th, 2007 under CBS, Super Bowl. [ Comments: none ]

Katie Couric’s going to the Super Bowl. The "CBS Evening News" anchor will contribute a feature to CBS’ four-hour Super Bowl pregame show on Feb. 4, the network said on Thursday. She will also anchor the evening news from Miami, the site of the big game, on the Friday before the game. There’s precedent at other networks for the news anchors to be involved in sports coverage, including Brian Williams and Couric during NBC’s Olympic broadcasts, said Sean McManus, president of CBS News and Sports. "It is the biggest event of the day and it makes sense for us to showcase what she does before the biggest audience of the year," McManus said. Couric’s evening newscast is in third place in the ratings behind NBC and ABC. She’s tentatively scheduled to do a feature on Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and his Korean heritage.

AP

I understand that her show desperately needs viewers, but this is not the place or time to do it. She is like Off Spray to a mosquito when it comes to the average viewer of the Super Bowl. Why should we suffer for CBS’s mistake of hiring her?

February 19th, 2007 under CBS, David Spade. [ Comments: none ]

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, a comedy about different phases of the male/female relationship as seen through the eyes of a newly-engaged couple Adam (Oliver Hudson) and Jennifer (Bianca Kajlich), a long-married pair Jeff (Patrick Warburton) and Audrey (Megyn Price) and a single guy on the prowl, Russell (David Spade). As the five find out, the often confusing stages of a relationship can seem like being on a roller coaster. People can describe them to you, but to really know what its like, you have to take the ride yourself.

I can’t wait to see this show, I hope it is as funny as the cast!

Adam Sandler to guest on King of Queens
February 19th, 2007 under Adam Sandler, CBS. [ Comments: none ]

A little birdie with ties to the soon-to-conclude sitcom tells me that Adam Sandler taped a guest appearance last night for an episode slated to air in April. The erstwhile Billy Madison plays a goofy high-school chum of Kevin James’. The two reconnect at their class reunion, but there’s a twist: Sandler’s character, the ex-class clown, is now the school’s vice principal! How’d producers pull off such a casting coup? Reps for the show declined to comment, but it’s a safe bet that Sandler did it as a favor to James, his costar in the upcoming gay-buddy comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Just a hunch. Queens, meanwhile, returns to CBS’ sked Apr. 9 with the first of the series’ seven final episodes.

That episode will be the first time in a long time that show with actually get viewers under 65.

HIMYM and The Class Dances with the football Stars Tonight
February 19th, 2007 under CBS, How I Met Your Mother. [ Comments: none ]

When Barney, who has a lot riding on the game, misses the Super Bowl, he begs football legend Emmitt Smith for the score, on “HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER” Monday, Feb. 5.

Duncan is shocked when he finds football legend Jerry Rice at Nicole and Yonk’s home on THE CLASS, Monday, Feb. 5 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

How I Met Your Mother
and The Class

I just love Neil Patrick Harris as Barney! After watching that clip, I am dying to know why he is a wearing handcuffs. But then again being a fan of How I Met Your Mother, it is not that hard to guess why?
When it comes to The Class, please watch this hidden gem before CBS cancels it.
