Back in 1983, 8 virtual unknowns starred in a little movie called The Outsiders and all of their acting careers and lives changed forever. Today if you say Ponyboy to someone, they will immediately picture C Thomas Howell in their heads. But there was someone else who screened for the role.
Yesterday on The Librarians, John Laroquette wore a jean vest and his co-star Rebecca Romijn revealed that this was not the first time he wore it on camera. He wore it 35 years ago to audition for the cult classic, and as we know he did not get the role.
Which makes you wonder what would have happened to the two actors had the role gone to the Laroquette. Does that mean Dan Fielding would have played the Soul Man and the Soul Man would have gone to play Dan Fielding in Night Court. Imagine how different their careers would have been? I am glad it turned out the way it did because their roles are perfect just the way they are.

One of the things they tell you in order to take the perfect picture is to find the light. I think we can all agree that C Thomas Howell found the light and then some. By the looks of it, he is beaming in that beam of sunshine and because of that he got the perfect photo.

Christopher Atkins shared this photo of him with two Outsiders and Renegade from the Hollywood Collectors Show this weekend and several Gen Xers got all excited. That is because the Blue Lagoon star, Ralph Macchio, C Thomas Howell and Lorenzo Lamas all look as sexy now as they did in those ’80s teen mags like BOP and Dynamite. Can believe besides the Soul Man that all of those guys are over 50 because they sure as heck don’t look their age?
Atkins suggested in his Tweet that they do a movie together, and I agree with him. Who wouldn’t like to see this Fab 4 on the big screen in one movie together? I’d pay for it!

C Thomas Howell posted this picture of himself hard at work and I think the actor still looks as hot as he did when he was a teen idol in the ’80s. Don’t you just want to ride Pony Boy?
