How poorly is Byron Allen’s late night show doing?

CBS cancelled Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show, and with that, they decided to back away from late night as a whole. So, they let Byron Allen buy the two-hour block for his shows, Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask.

However, ratings for his shows are not funny. According to Late Nighter, during the week of June 8th, Jimmy Kimmel Live had 3.07 million viewers. While the two daily episodes of Comics Unleashed averaged around 650,000 viewers.

Translation: Kimmel was watched by almost five times more viewers than Allen.

Therefore, it is a failure not only for Allen but also for the CBS affiliates, who are losing viewers to their 11 O’clock news because barely anyone is tuning in to the show that follows their news broadcasts.

When it comes to Funny You Should Ask, Late Night with Seth Meyers is getting double the audience.

Once again proving that everything donald trump touches turns into shit. And what he doesn’t touch, thrives. Well, unless it is algae because that thrives under him, as does our national debt.

Comics Unleashed is a bomb

CBS cancelled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and gave his slot to Byron Allen, who is paying for the two-hour slot.

Was Allen able to pay enough people to watch him? Nope. After a full week, the mogul who thinks he is funny is averaging 885,000 total viewers for his first half-hour show and 590,000 at 12:05a.

According to Late Nighter, that is an average of 737,000 viewers. How is that in comparison to what Colbert did? He was getting 2.7 million viewers for the first part of the season. Therefore, Allen lost two million viewers.

Who is the biggest loser? The local affils. I hope they revolt because, without them, CBS is in more trouble than it is now. And don’t get me started on what they are doing 60 Minutes.

Are people watching Byron Allen?

Byron Allen reportedly paid tens of millions of dollars to air his show, Comics Unleashed, in The Late Show’s old timeslot on CBS. Is he getting his money’s worth?

When I heard what he was doing, I joked that only people who fell asleep during the 11 O’clock local news would be watching. And I wasn’t far off.

According to Late Nighter, only 995,000 watched the first hour on Friday, and 1/3 of them did not stick around for the second hour.

If that is how his first episode did against a repeat of Jimmy Kimmel Live, it is only going to get worse.

Therefore, this is another failure due to Meidas Trump, who turns everything he touches into shit.

Do I feel bad for Harris’ massive failure? Not at all. His takeovers have destroyed many people’s lives. He can buy timeslots, but he can’t buy people to watch him. Typical rich guy trying to buy friends, only to find out not everyone is for sale.

BTWF: Byron Allen on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson
April 8th, 2026 under Before They Were Famous, Byron Allen. [ Comments: none ]

Before Byron Allen had to pay for people to watch his shows like Comic Unleashed, Johnny Carson gave him his big break on The Tonight Show. He looks the same now as he did when he was 18 during that 1979 episode.

CBS is going to be missing The Late Show
April 6th, 2026 under Byron Allen, CBS. [ Comments: none ]

It is rumored that CBS parted ways with Stephen Colbert at the urging of donald trump. And with that, the network decided to end doing late night original programming, something they started in 1993 with David Letterman.

So what will be filling The Late Show’s timeslot? They will air a two-hour block of Byron Allen shows, Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask.

Comics Unleashed has been used as filler at 12:35a between the end of The Late Late Show with James Corden and the start of After Midnight, and then it returned when that comedienne’s name I don’t remember left.

Today, CBS announced that Comics Unleashed will move to 11:35p and 12:05a, and then Funny You Should Ask will follow at 12:35a and 1:05a.

So get ready for lots of PSA and religious ads during that two-hour block, because who is going to want to advertise during those two shows? I also expect that the 11p local news will suffer because people used to tune into watch the news before Colbert.

Yes, it is cheaper to air this. But in the long run, I think it will be more expensive.

Seriously, who knows who Byron Allen is?
