The laughter is back on ABC tonight with all new episodes of their comedies, the premiere of a new one and the addition of a legal drama!
Starting at 8p Patricia Heaton is reunited with her Everybody Love Raymond mother-in-law Doris Roberts on The Middle. Frankie and Mike decide to start the school year off right and properly parent their kids. Well that plan doesn’t go so well and their kids suffer from overparenting and wind up suffering from the opposite of what they intended. When Frankie decides to talk to Brick’s teacher played by Roberts before she is called in talk to her things really backfire for her youngest son. Will the Hecks keep trying to be good parents or will they go back to the way they used to be. Tune in to find out in this hilarious episode. Plus Atticus Shaffer is the cutest kid on TV!
At 8:30p longtime friend JoAnna Garcia and Jennifer Finnigan plays close sisters in the endearing comedy Better with You. Jennifer plays Maddie who has been living with her boyfriend for years and they have yet to decide to get married. JoAnna plays Mia who has big announcement she is going to marry the guy she has been dating for a few months and now she has to tell her parents about him and the news. Their parents played by Debra Jo Rupp and Kurt Fuller and Maddie’s boyfriend is prepping Mia’s to deal with them. When things get heated at the dinner Maddie’s boyfriend let’s something big slip about her sister and will that news tear them apart or bring them closer. How will that news change Maddie’s relationship with her boyfriend? Tune into find out in the sweet comedy that brings Jennifer Finnigan and JoAnna Garcia back to weekly television.
Then at 9p the Emmy winning Modern Family returns followed by another sitcom reunion on Cougar Town. Courteney Cox is joined by her friend Jennifer Aniston in the hysterical season premiere. Jules is having a hard time dealing with her son going away to college, so she decides to see a professional (Anistron) about it. Jules immediately beFriends hers, but when she learns more about her things will get weird. Cougar Town has only gotten better in its second season, so make sure to watch it at 9:30p.
ABC concludes the evening with a new drama. The Whole Truth stars Maure Tierney and Rob Morrow as opposing lawyers and we get to see how both sides fight to win their cases. It is an interesting concept and it works really well for this show!
A few weeks ago ABC announced that Jennifer Aniston is going to guest star on her Friend Courteney Cox’s ABC show Cougar Town on September 22nd and now we are seeing both of them on the set together. Monica and Rachel look just like they did when they did Friends together all those years ago, except Courteney’s grey hairs are really showing in that last picture. Joking, it was too easy not to go there!
BTW here is how ABC described Jen’s part on the show, “Jules finds an instant connection with her new shrink, Glenn (Aniston), until she discovers the unfortunate but hilarious truth about her method of treatment; Ellie is jealous over Jules’ fondness for Glenn.” I can’t wait to see what her “method of treatment” is, for some reason I have a feeling it will be something sexual? Maybe another same-sex kiss between the two?
Last season Courteney Cox reunited with her Friend Lisa Kudrow on Cougar Town and this season she is reuniting with another one. Jennifer Aniston is going to guest star on the season premiere of the ABC comedy. Not much is known like if the two Friends will kiss on September 22nd like they did on Dirt. If Aniston makes as much as impact on the show as her movie The Switch did to the box office this weekend, maybe they should have gotten David Schwimmer instead.
Although we will not be getting a Friends reunion anytime soon, we will get a mini one on ABC’s Cougar Town on January 6th. Courteney Cox got her Friend Lisa Kudrow to guest star on her show, but as you can see from that clip that is not the Phoebe we know and love. I have never seen that side of Lisa Kudrow’s acting before and I like it. Who knew she could play a non-ditzy bitch? I can’t wait to see how she tortures Jules on the show because according to the write ups that is just what she does!!!
Courteney Cox still has a Friend in Lisa Kudrow because her former co-star is going to guest star on her new ABC show Cougar Town according to Michael Ausiello. She is going to play a doctor who Cox can't stop going to even though she is mean to her. Hmmm, I wonder what that means??? Out of all of Cox's Friends, I thought Jennifer Aniston should've been the one to guest star on the show. After all she has experience as a Cougar!!!
BTW Courteney might be gaining a Friend, Ausiello is reporting she is losing a boyfriend. He says that Nick Zano who is currently playing her cub, is in talks to join Melrose Place. Sounds like when the show producers said last week that they were going to make MP lighter and funnier, they weren't kidding. I like Nick Zano, but I just don't see him on MP the way the show is now and I don't really think I will enjoy the show if they want to make it a show I can see him on.
