A murder mystery on tonight’s Best Medicine
February 24th, 2026 under Best Medicine, Fox. [ Comments: none ]

The sleepy town of Port Wenn gets a wake-up call tonight at 8p on Fox’s Best Medicine when a dead body is found during a history lesson about the area.

The body is discovered in the local bog, and Dr. Best (Josh Charles) is called in to investigate the murder because the coroner is on vacation.

Since the body has been underwater in the wetland for so long, it is hard to determine who he was and when he died. But it looks like he was shot.

Who shot him? When did he die? And who was he?

Someone will confess to the murder, and it will shock you. But not as much as why. Did they really do it?

That is not all that Dr. Best has to deal with in the episode. He also needs to start on Louisa (Abigail Spencer) on her bloodletting treatment. As we know, he has a phobia of blood, so how is he going to handle it? Let’s just say he will make it awkward for the two of them and Elaine (Cree).

And he will also make it awkward for everyone in Port Wenn because they are not used to seeing him so happy, or happy at all. Why is he happy?

You are just going to have to tune in to find out. And you also need to tune in to see why this medical dramedy is making me and so many people so happy!

I might be a big city girl, but Best Medicine makes me want to live in a small, quirky town that has crazy events every week. Nothing like that ever happens like that where I live, and Amelia Earhart lived in my little town before she took that fateful plane ride. You would think we would do more to honor her or some of my other famous neighbors like Bob Hope, Garry Marshall, and Miley Cyrus. But it is not about me.

Tonight’s Best Medicine is bloody great!
February 17th, 2026 under Best Medicine, Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Some might say Best Medicine is a medical procedural, but others, me, would say it is a lunatic event of the week show.

So what crazy thing are they doing tonight at 8p in Fox? The townspeople are celebrating the Horror novel Blood Factory, which takes place in their small town, by turning the pages into a live play. Think Steven King and the Stanley Hotel, but in this case, the author worked at an ice cream shop there 40 years ago for a summer.

Anyways, every year, they turn Port Wenn into a blood factory and recreate scenes from the book. As we know, but the residents don’t know, Dr. Best (Josh Charles) faints at the sight of blood. So, how is he going to handle the fact that there is going to be blood everywhere for the week as they prepare for the big day?

Things get even worse for him when Louisa (Abigail Spencer) comes down with a mystery illness that involves a cough and a rash, and she is not the only one. And in Port Wenn, when someone gets something, others do too. Therefore, her ex, Sheriff Mark (Josh Segarra), and some of her students also develop the same symptoms.

So, it is up to Dr. Best to figure out what is going on with them. Before he does, he will try to shut down the annual event to stop the spread because that is what he does.

How far will Louisa go to make sure he doesn’t do that? And will they make out as Liam (Josh Hoon Lee) says in the promo above?

I am not going to tell you that. But I will tell you, by not watching, you are missing a show that makes me wish I lived in their small town because each week the lovable neighbors do something fun, and their doctor is kind of cute! Granted, they get sick all the time, but he also makes them better. So there is that.

Best Medicine is seeing blue and Doc’s episode is a game changer tonight
February 10th, 2026 under Best Medicine, Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8p on Fox, the town goes crazy again on Best Medicine. This time, it is over a blueberry pie contest that all the entrants take very seriously.

Dr. Best (Josh Charles) is confused why he has an empty waiting room, and Elaine (Cree) tells him that everyone is getting ready for the contest.

One of the patients who cancelled on him is his aunt (Annie Potts), so he makes a house call and learns more about her health, and he is not going to like what he finds out.

She is not the only one who has a medical issue. Sheriff Mark (Josh Segarra) also needs to see Dr. Best, and you will be shocked by why. But not as much as him.

He better get better quickly because he is going to be needed at the contest. What happens after the pies are eaten is why I love this medical dramedy.

Best Medicine keeps proving it is more heart than anything else, even if they pretend that Dr. Best doesn’t have one.

Then at 9p, get ready for an episode that is going to change everything on Doc.

Before we get to that, Amy (Molly Parker) has a patient who desperately needs a liver transplant, and her granddaughter wants to give it to her. However, the grandmother doesn’t want it, even if it means she is going to die. There is a reason why she is so dead against it. Will Amy be able to make her change her mind before it is too late?

Dr. Joan Ridley (Felicity Huffman) has been keeping her cancer a secret from everyone. Tonight, she goes to her doctor at another hospital to get an update on her condition and tells everyone she is going to a medical conference. However, Sonya (Anya Banerjee) and T.J. (Patrick Walker) suspect something is up with her. Will they be able to figure it out?

Finally, Richard (Scott Wolf) is back, and he is there to talk about a settlement with the hospital about his firing. But he wants more, a lot more. Will he get it?

The episode is so good that I hate that we have to wait a week to find out what happens next.

The town turns against Dr. Best on Best Medicine
January 13th, 2026 under Best Medicine, Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Francisco Roman/FOX.

Tonight at 8p on Fox’s new medical drama, Best Medicine, the town has come down with something, and Dr. Best (Josh Charles) thinks it is something contagious. Therefore, he cancels Port Wenn’s beloved monthly baked bean supper to stop the spread. But hate towards Dr. Best is spreading faster than the mystery illness. Will his aunt Sarah (Annie Potts) turn against him too? After all, she has been living there forever, and he is new to the area.

To make matters worse for him, he meets up with his old bully, who hasn’t changed since they were kids. And did I mention his bully sponsors the monthly dinner?

While he is dealing with that, Louisa (Abigail Spencer) and her ex, the town sheriff, Mark (Josh Segarra), are trying to navigate their new status in a small town after she called off their wedding. And he has already moved on with someone close to her.

Finally, there is Elaine (Cree), Dr. Best’s assistant, who does everything but her job. She is also not happy with her boss because no patients means that she cannot film her YouTube game show.

Will Dr. Best be a hero or remain a zero by the end of the episode? You will have to tune in for another heartfelt, funny, and medical-solving episode to find out. Check it out, I promise you that it is just what the doctor ordered.
