First it was CandyLand, then it was HeMan and now it is Barbie’s turn to get her own movie. Yep you read that right, according to The Hollywood Reporter the almost 50 year old doll is getting a live-action movie. Not much more is known like which Barbie collection(s) we will get or how old she will be. I just really hope they don’t go the cheesy way with this movie, but how can you not?
So who do you think who should play the iconic doll? I hope they go with an unknown because I can’t think of any one with a name who would be right for the role. Now when it comes to Ken, that role has Zac Efron written all over it!!!
Before Tiffani Amber Thiessen was Kelly Kapowski on Saved By The Bell, she was just like every girl playing with her Peaches ‘N Cream Barbie. How awwwdorable was the 10 year old actress in that 1984 commercial. You can barely tell it is her with those curled up bangs.
Before Amanda Bynes was in pigtails in Hairspray, the only hair she was styling was Cut ‘N Style Barbie’s!!! How precious was the 8 year old back in 1994!!! It is kind of hard to tell it is her, but her eyes give her away!!!
In honor of the JJ Abrams' Star Trek movie, Mattle will be releasing 3 Barbie dolls. There is just something so wrong about that, Barbie and Star Trek are just such polar opposites. The three dolls are suppose to look like the actors who are playing Kirk, Spock, and Lieutenant Uhurain in the movie, but I don't think that the Spock looks anything like Zachary Quinto.
For you Star Trek fans who want your Barbie Dolls they will be available for only $43.19 on April 20th, which really isn't a bad price for the future collectibles.
Noel Cruz has painted the faces of celebrities on dolls and their likeness is amazing! His work became known about a month ago when his Angelina Jolie doll hit eBay and as you can see he has done so much more. These are just the modern day dolls he has done, but on Noel Cruz's website you can see the ones he has done for Marilyn Monroe, Lucielle Ball and so many more. His work is so beautiful, I just had to share it with you. I love how he captures their eyes.
BTW he puts the dolls on eBay if you want one of you own.
