A few weeks ago, Apple TV+ announced that they acquired the Charlie Brown holiday specials from ABC. That means that the beloved Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes would not be seen on broadcast television anymore. Needless to say, people were crying good grief 2020.
Well, today PBS gave them some holiday cheer. That is because they will be airing the classic episodes commercial-free. The Thanksgiving one will air on November 22nd, and the Christmas one is coming to town on December 13th.
When it comes to Apple TV+, Turkey Day will start cooking on November 18th, and it will be available to stream for free on the 25 through the 27th. Then on December 4th, Christmas comes early with free viewings on the 11th through the 13th.

Oprah Winfrey made a name for herself as the most loved talk show host, but then she got her own network. Every now and again, she still does interviews on OWN. However, not enough.
Well, now she is back doing what we love her for, interviewing people on important issues starting this Thursday. Lady O wrote, “It’s time to bring humanity back to the conversation. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first episode is available for free. Maybe this is what we need to unify our divided country. If anyone can do it, it is Oprah!
The people behind Bob’s Burger have a new animated show on Apple TV+, and Central Park something to sing about. I mean, sing-along with because it is also a musical. Each episode features songs that will get stuck in your head.
Birdie (Josh Gad) is the narrator of the story, and he is the busker at Central Park. However, the story is not about him. Instead, it is about the Tillerman family. Owen (Leslie Odom Jr.) is the park’s manager, and he lives there with his family. His wife, Paige (Kathryn Hahn) is a writer for a newspaper that can be found on the NYC subway because that is where the readers leave it. She wants to write newsier stories, and she will get that chance thanks to her son, Cole (Tituss Burgess).
Bitsy Brandenham (Stanley Tucci) is like Leona Hemsley. She lives in her high-rise across from the park, and she hates that empty lot. She is in real estate, and she sees all the buildings and stores she can build there. Therefore, she is going to do everything in her power to get the most famous park shut down.
Before she can do that, she must find her dog. She is offering a huge reward to get him back. What no one knows is that Cole has found the pup, and he wants to keep it to himself.
Since no one knows that Cole has a dog, people from far and wide are coming to the park to find the rich pooch. All the foot traffic is destroying Owen’s flowers, so he wants to find the dog first. What is he going to do when he discovers his son has the puppy all along.
There is a fourth member of the Tillerman family. She is Molly (Kristen Bell), and she is experiencing her first crush. Her first kiss will be something she wants to throw away.
Talking about garbage, we will get a whole episode about that. Yes, it has something to do with the evil Bitsy Brandenham.
If you love Bob’s Burgers and musicals, then you will love this show. Even if you don’t, you are still going to adore it.
They also capture some of the stuff that makes Central Park different from any other park. And I am not talking about the good things!
Back in the ’80s, Beastie Boys took the rap scene by storm with their hit (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party). The three white teens from NYC were everywhere, but their story is not a fairytale. The surviving members, Michael Diamond and Adam Horovitz, are sharing their tale in Beastie Boys Story that is streaming now on Apple TV+.
Before they were the Beastie Boys, Diamond, Horowitz and Adam Yauch were just boys and a girl hanging out making punk rock music. Rap was still in its infancy when they started out. Then as it slowly started to gain popularity in NYC, they added it to their sound.
The three of them had the right timing and kept meeting the right people at the right time. For example, a DJ named Rick Rubin. Rubin introduced them to his friend and soon-to-be-business partner Russell Simmons. The two men were starting a label called DefJam and they wanted to sign the Boys.
Before they knew it, they were on the road with Madonna. They told the crazy story about how that happened. Then they talk about the other bands they toured with before License to Ill even came out. Once that happened, their lives were changed forever.
They created an image for themselves, and it took over their lives. They weren’t happy about who they became, so they quit and went their different ways. However, they had a contract that wouldn’t let them do that.
They worked on a second album, but it wasn’t the same. The hottest guys in rap saw their fame dwindle down to nothing. Their failure gave them the chance to be free of DefJam and find a new label.
The three of them left NY for LA, and spent money like it was water. When you do that, the well goes dry. Now, the band, who played to sold-out stadiums, were playing clubs. You know what, they loved it even more.
They got the feeling back that they had when they first started as a band. Beastie was releasing the music they wanted and not what someone else told them to do.
There were a lot of good times and some sad ones. They lost their friends and family members. However, none of them hurt as much as when they lost Adam Yauch in 2012 to cancer. When he died, so did the Beastie Boys.
Or so they thought. Diamond and Horowitz did one more tour. Instead of playing music, they did a lecture like standup, where they finally got to tell their story.
The last show was filmed by their music video director Spike Jonez. That final show is what you will see on Apple TV+ now.
Beatie Boys Story is not only about their rise to fame and fall, but it is also about everything in between. There are anecdotes like what Beastie stands for. Did you know it is an acronym? The crazy things they did on tour. Most importantly, it is about three best friends living the dream! That is something no one will ever be able to take from them.
When you watch the one-night two-hour documentary, make sure to watch it through the credits. They show a lot of home videos as the names roll down the screen.
