As if the Burger King King wasn’t scary enough!
March 30th, 2010 under Ads, Fast Food. [ Comments: none ]

Burger King wants to murder the competition in the late night business so they are using horror icons to sell us on it. Geek Tyrant spoke with the advertising agency that came up with these bloody brilliant ads, and this is why they did it “Thomas and Kris came up with the following campaign showing the villains of the night that we know all to well, enjoying their favourite meal after a umm night out. The ads were shot in South Africa and Dubai by French photographer Ben Dauchez and retouched by Thomas himself. A job well done! The series comprises of four ads which will run in press and outdoor.” I freaking love these ads because I love all of those horror movies and Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th, Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street and Chucky from Child’s Play! Hopefully Burger King will order some more ads because we are missing Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Michael Myers from Halloween, Pinhead from Hellraiser and Jigsaw from Saw. Seriously don’t the ads look gorgeous? They really did a great job with the way they photographed and re-touched them.
BTW I think Burger King should’ve used the Burger King King in these advertisements because I have had more nightmares due to him than all of those horror legends put together. He is the creepiest one of them all!

Hugh Jackman puts the cool in Lipton Iced Tea!
March 18th, 2010 under Ads, Hugh Jackman. [ Comments: 1 ]

via The Guardian
Back in January Hugh Jackman was named the global brand ambassador for Lipton Iced Tea and now we are seeing the first commercial he has done for them. I loved that Japanese ad, and I wish there were more ads that were song and dance numbers like that. They used to do ads like that in The States, but for some reason they stopped. Granted a big reason why that ad worked so well is because Hugh Jackman is just so freaking cool and that is what Lipton Iced Tea is all about!

How to get women to watch a show!
February 18th, 2010 under Ads. [ Comments: none ]

If you want to guarantee that women will watch a show, all you have to do is come up with a billboard like the one they came up with to promote the show Hung in New Zealand! I just love the accuracy on the bulge! I wonder who was the model for that ad?
I really hope they bring that ad to The States, but for some reason I don’t think that will happen.

The best of the Super Bowl ads
February 8th, 2010 under Ads, Super Bowl. [ Comments: none ]

I know most people think David Letterman’s ad with his arch rival Jay Leno was the best one that aired during the Super Bowl, but my favorite was the Snickers one with Betty White and Abe Vigoda. I mostly liked it because we got to see that Abe Vigoda is Alive and I didn’t have to check out the website to confirm it!
What were you favorite ads and did I miss any?
BTW who cared more about the commercials than the game?

Boy Ron Jeremy’s career is going down, down, down.
December 28th, 2009 under Ads, Ron Jeremy. [ Comments: none ]

via Heeb
Ron Jeremy might the #1 porn star, but in the non-porn world his career is going down, down, down. I thought it was bad when The Hedgehog did the horrible but enjoyable film One Eyed Monster, but that was nothing compared to this Bigralis ad. How many steroetypes can they do in one ad? And how many races, religions and people can they insult in one commercial. The answer is 5, because besides the four men featured, bad acting has to count for something. Seriously not only is it insulting but that acting makes porn stars look good in that department. OK maybe I went too far with that one.
All that is left to say is oy!
