The Rookie is still on ABC’s beat
April 17th, 2023 under ABC, Nathan Fillion. [ Comments: none ]

ABC announced today that The Rookie will be back for a sixth season.

The renewal is not a surprise because it does well on any night they put it on. That and after reading the synopsis for the season finale on May 2nd, it sounds like they are ending with a cliffhanger.

After one of their own is shot, the team suffers a series of close calls and realizes their division may be a target for a group of masked assailants. Whose life/lives do you think will be in danger? Is it wrong I am rooting for Jenna Dewan’s character to die?

The Nathan Fillion starrer will join Abbott Elementary and Grey’s Anatomy on ABC’s 2023-2024 schedule.

ABC announced its midseason lineup, and they are pairing up The Rookie with its spinoff The Rookie: Feds, and this is the smartest thing they did all season.

What is not smart is that The Wonder Years is not on it, and they didn’t move Abbott Elementary to 8p on Wednesdays. The school sitcom is more of a family show than The Conners.

Here is the new schedule:

THURSDAY, DEC. 15

10:00-11:00 p.m. “The Parent Test” (special series premiere – previously announced)

TUESDAY, JAN. 3
8:00-9:00 p.m. “The Rookie” (new night and time)
9:00-10:00 p.m. “The Rookie: Feds” (new time)
10:00-11:00 p.m. “Will Trent” (series premiere)

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 4
9:00-9:31 p.m. “Abbott Elementary”
9:31-10:00 p.m. “Home Economics”
10:00-11:00 p.m. “Big Sky: Deadly Trails”

THURSDAY, JAN. 5
8:00-9:00 p.m. “Celebrity Jeopardy!” (new night)
9:00-10:00 p.m. “The Parent Test” (regular time period premiere)

7:00-8:00 p.m. “America’s Funniest Home Videos”
8:00-10:00 p.m. “American Idol” (season premiere)

The saddest thing to happen to A Million Little Things
November 7th, 2022 under ABC. [ Comments: none ]

When I watched the pilot for A Million Little Things, I thought, why were so many good actors being wasted on such a depressing show? I couldn’t understand why people would want to tune in for a cryfest every week. But they did.

Well, I guess they got bored of the sadness and started to tune out. So today, ABC announced that this upcoming season will be its last.

You can watch the final episodes starting on February 8th.

And hopefully, this news means we will get another Psych movie and a Grimm sequel! As I said, the actors’ talent was wasted in this series.

The Rookie: Feds will be around all season
October 21st, 2022 under ABC, Niecy Nash. [ Comments: none ]

ABC announced today that they picked up The Rookie: Feds for additional episodes. The news is not a surprise because it is a darling series with a loveable cast and exciting storylines.

Hopefully, we will get more crossovers with The Rookie, like we did this week, as the season goes on. And next season, let’s hope ABC makes the smart decision to pair the two series together. It worked so well for Station 19; it is now doing better than Grey’s Anatomy.

If you haven’t seen the police procedural, you can watch it Tuesdays at 10p or on Hulu anytime.
