In 1986, we watched four boys embark on a journey to find a dead body in Stand By Me, but what they found was a friendship that would last forever.
Not only did Gordon, Teddy, and Vern find that, but so did the actors who played them.
In honor of Stand By Me turning 40 on August 22nd, Jerry O’Connell, Wil Wheaton, and Corey Feldman are embarking on another journey. The three men are touring the country and watching the coming-of-age film with their fans.
Yesterday was their first stop in Concord, New Hampshire. Tonight they are in Red Bank, New Jersey. Tomorrow they will be in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Back to the tour, they are traveling by bus to the different locations, and O’Connell shared a video of them together. It was great to see them together again. I have seen Jerry with Wil or Corey, but not with the other two surviving members.
On that note, I picture this is what it would be like if they reunited to attend a memorial for Chris, who we found out was killed at the end of the movie. RIP River Phoenix.
