In 1984, John Lithgow tried to prevent a town from dancing in Footloose. You would think that after 42 years, he would be over trying to stop the music and joy. But he is not.
Yesterday, when Kenny Loggins was singing a melody of his hits, including I’m Alright from Caddyshack, Danger Zone from Top Gun, Your Mama Don’t Dance, and Celebrate Me Home, on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, their classroom instruments were silenced by the new and oldest Tony winner.
But don’t worry. Just like in that movie, Kevin Bacon was there to make sure everyone got loose, Footloose!!!
I think that the late night talk show missed a huge opportunity. They should have panned back to Reverend Shaw Moore dancing along with everyone!
