ABC loves learning the ABCs from Abbott Elementary so much that they picked it up for a fifth season today.
The sitcom is the network’s most buzzed show, after 9-1-1, and one of the few that get Emmy nominations, so it makes sense.
Plus, it is getting help in the ratings from the premiere of Tim Allen’s Shifting Gears and the crossover event episode with the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
UPDATE: ABC was in a good mood today because they also picked up High Potential for a second season. The police procedural, which stars Kaitlin Olson, has been doing great since its premiere. Therefore, this decision makes a lot of sense.
It has been almost two years since School Spirits’ shocking season finale streamed on Paramount+. So, I have been wondering when we are finally going to get the second season to find out what happens next. Today, the streamer announced that it will be back with three episodes on January 30th.
The premiere episode, Whatever Happened to Maddie Nears?, follows Maddie Nears (Peyton List) as she works to bring a doubting Simon (Kristian Ventura), her only connection to the living world, back on board to help her track down and collect her missing body.
Throughout the season, Maddie Nears is still stuck in the afterlife with the knowledge of what happened to her, and must unite her friends in the spectral and living worlds in order to reclaim her stolen life.
So, for those of you who discovered the Sci-Fi mystery high school drama on Netflix, it is time to subscribe to Paramount+ to watch season 2! Because who knows when those eight episodes will come to that other streaming service?

Those six are not alone; there are five others who also don’t have a statuette, and Pop Culture Jeopardy wanted to see if the contestants knew they were.

Billy Ray Cyrus did not have an easy 2024. He ended his marriage to Fireroseafter, after just seven months, had a messy divorce, and there are rumors that he and his daughter, Miley, are estranged.
His 2025 is starting off on a good note for him (not the country) because he was asked to perform at the 2025 Inauguration Liberty Ball. So, you would think that he would dress up for the event.
He didn’t. In fact, yesterday, someone said he looked homeless, and today, he looked even worse. He wore a cowboy hat that hid his messy hair, which looked like it hadn’t been washed in a while. Below that, he donned an oversized jacket over a sleeveless tee and jeans.
If it was just how he looked, it would be one thing. However, it was also singing. He began by lipsyncing to Old Town Road with the music video playing in the background because there was no band to support him. He tried to get the audience to join in, but they just stood there. Well, they did sing along to the chorus, but that was it. He could not even get them to clap his hands. It was so quiet you could hear Trump and Giuliani farting.
Then he had technical difficulties and said he couldn’t get his guitar to play. It was never fixed, so he did an acapella version of Achy Breaky Heart. He sounded hoarse as he walked aimlessly around the stage, and again, the audience just stood there. After the chorus, he just gave up. He proceeded to take off his jacket and threw it on the floor.
Finally, production played the music video for Could’ve Been Me, and he continued to just walk around the stage waving to the audience, who didn’t care he was there.
Finally, someone from backstage came out to get him off the stage. Without a hook as they did in Vaudeville.
I don’t know if there is anything wrong with him, but this reminded me of how The Rose ended. If you don’t know how it ended, spoiler alert: Bette Midler collapses on the stage and dies.
