Netflix announced today that they picked up Outer Banks for a fifth and final season.
The co-creators & executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke released this statement about the final episode of the popular series:
Dispatch to all Pogues:
Seven years ago, in the summer of 2017, we came across a photo of teenagers on a beach at dusk during a power outage. That photo sparked an idea for a story of four best friends who only want to have a good time all the time. From this beginning, we imagined a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting, and friendship.
At the time, seven years ago, it seemed impossible that we would really get to tell the whole five season story, but here we are, at the end of our fourth season, still chopping away.
The fourth season was our longest and hardest – but most rewarding – to produce. The season ends with a feature length episode, which we think is our best, most powerful episode. We hope you feel the same way.
Now, with a little sadness, but also excitement, we’re putting Season Four behind us, and are turning to Season Five, in which we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned years ago. Season Five will be our last season, and we think it will be our best yet. We hope you’ll join us for one more paddle out to the surf break.
P4L,
Josh, Jonas, and Shannon
Even though Netflix announced the final season today, the second part of the fourth season will premiere on November 7th.
Pogues, are you sad about this? I have never seen an episode, so I am not.
Emma Slater and Ezra Sosa have sadly already been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars this season, but that doesn’t mean they are not still shaking their booties on the dancing competition show.
When the two pros are not shaking their booties, they are smacking the other ones. This is the show I would tune in to watch.
While I would watch Slater said this about the dancer all the way in the back, “My favorite part of this video is definitely @pashapashkov in the background unfazed ”
It sounds like he is used to their antics. I am not, and I am enjoying it. We need more of the pros letting their hair down and their tushies up.
One more note. I guess you can say that the two of them are dancing to the beat of their own butt drums!
Yesterday, James Van Deer Beek, 47, announced that he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. However, after his interview was released, he said it was not on his terms.
“It is cancer…”
Each year, approximately 2 billion people around the world receive this diagnosis. And I’m one of them. There’s no playbook for how announce these things, but I’d planned on talking about it at length with People magazine at some point soon… to raise awareness and tell my story on my own terms. But that plan had to be altered early this morning when I was informed that a tabloid was going to run with the news.
I’ve been dealing with this privately until now, getting treatment and dialing in my overall health with greater focus than ever before. I’m in a good place and feeling strong. It’s been quite the initiation, and I’ll tell you more when I’m ready.
Apologies to all the people in my life who I’d planned on telling myself. Nothing about this process has occurred on my preferred timeline… But we roll with it, taking each surprise as a signpost, pointing us toward a greater destiny than we would have discovered without divine intervention.
Please know that my family and I deeply appreciate all the love and support.
More to come…
I have always hated that tabloids have forced celebrities to reveal pregnancies coming out, illnesses and hospitalizations, splits, and so much more before they are ready. They are human and deserve the right to have some privacy on things like the above.
I was once given the scoop that an actor and his wife were having twins, but I opted not to go with it. It is not my story to tell. I am glad I did because I am now social media friends with that actor.
I continue to sit on stuff that is going on with my friends and even celebrities I don’t know. There are just some things that should be theirs to tell when they are ready.
Back to JVDB. I have a feeling we will find out more about his cancer diagnosis when The Real Full Monty airs Decembber 9th on Fox. The special finds him and other male celebrities baring all to raise awareness for prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer testing and research.
Chris Martin made a stop in Melbourne with his tour yesterday. While performing at a concert there, he found himself in an awkward position.
The Coldplay singer was walking backward and didn’t notice the open trap door in the stage. So, you know what happened next? He fell down the rabbit hole.
Luckily for him, a stagehand caught him. Therefore, he was able to go on with the show as if nothing had happened—just a bruised ego and tush.
This is the most exciting thing he has done since he consciously uncoupled from Gwyneth Paltrow.
For 30 years, Mariah Carey has been singing All I Want for Christmas is You. But really, all she wanted was herself. And this year. Madame Tussauds New York gave her that.
The wax museum created a wax figure of the Queen of Christmas and it is her new best friend. Not only because it is her twin but also because, as she says, “I finally found someone to help me out with the toy delivery this year!”
When your ex-husband has as many kids as he has, you definitely need the help. And even two of you are not enough!
Back to the image of MiMiMiMi. I can’t get it out of my head. I had the nightmare that the singer continues to multiply and goes around singing her annual chart-topping song to everyone who doesn’t have the Christmas spirit. And since Ebenezer Scrooge is my icon, I never have it. Therefore, I picture ten of them surrounding me, singing the Christmas Carol. Send help!
