Have you been wondering what to get your grandmother for her birthday next year? Now, you have an option. In February, powerHouse Books is releasing Michael Bolton. It is a book filled with nearly 40 years of photos of the singer.
In 1987, celebrity photographer Timothy White got a call from American musician Michael Bolotin’s (now Bolton) record company asking him to work on a photo shoot. When Bolton came over to his studio, Timothy was struck by his calm persona, dry wit, and superb sense of humor. The two immediately hit it off. The resulting full-of-life photographs that captured Bolton’s charisma and charm marked the start of not only a professional but also a personal relationship that would come to establish Bolton’s visual legacy and identity.
The handpicked photos follow Bolton from his long curly locks to the short haircut he has now.
The pictures are an intimate look into his life showing us a side of him we never see.
We will also read quotes throughout the book about him from people like Dolly Parton and Rihanna.
Michael Bolton is available to pre-order now here.
Before Michael C. Hall was living in Miami on Dexter, he knew NYC like the back of his hand on As the World Turns. How green was the 28-year-old during his on-camera debut in 1999?
Paramount+ and Showtime released the first full trailer for the prequel to Dexter. I did not watch the original series, but Dexter: Original Sin looks so enticing.
Set in 1991 Miami, DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
Can we talk about how good a job casting did with the younger versions of the characters we know? You would actually think it is them 15 years younger.
The series makes its Paramount+ debut on December 13, and two days later, it will air on Showtime.
Richard Curtis gave us Love Actually in 2003, one of the most iconic Christmas movies of this century. On December 4th, he is finally giving us another holiday film called That Christmas.
Curtis wanted to make the movie a little more magical, so he called his friend Ed Sheeran and asked him to write a song for his Netflix animated film. Today, the singer and the streaming service released Under the Tree.
“Richard Curtis made my fav Christmas film, and TV special,” Sheeran said. “He came round my house in 2021 and showed me a rough of his new one, then asked me to make a song for it. How could I resist. Having kids, I struggle to find great great movies for very young kids to watch at Christmas, and this ticks all the boxes. This song is written about a character in the film who wants to spend Christmas with his dad, but doesn’t get to. It’s a heartbreaking scene, and something so many people go through every year being alone at Christmas. Hope everyone loves the song.”
Even though it brought tears to my eyes, I still love it.
It sounds like I am also going to love the movie. That Christmas follows a series of entwined tales about love and loneliness, family and friends, and Santa Claus making a big mistake, not to mention an enormous number of turkeys!
Get the tissues ready because it sounds like there are going to be some moments that are going to make you cry. Actually, I think it is going to give us all of the feels. Just like Love Actually did.
