So, you know how Ellen DeGeneres announced that she was retiring from standup after her Netflix comedy special? Well, today, George Lopez announced the same thing.
The comedian tells Tamron Hall (via Deadline) that he has retired from standup and his Prime Video is his swan song. “I’ve subjected the American people to enough of my crap,” he told the host. “It seems like the right time; it’s been the one thing that has just never left me my whole life and it’s a wonderful place to leave it at this particular point.”
What does he plan to do with all of that extra time? He plans to spend it with his daughter and Lopez vs Lopez co-star, Mayan.
I love that they did not have the best relationship when she was growing up. But now he is making up for lost time.
