The first part of Cobra Kai’s final season dropped today, and we got to see who made it to Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate in Barcelona, Spain. We also found out who left Daniel Russo (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence’s (Billy Zabka) newly formed Miyagi-Fang.

So, when will we see who is going to win the world title at the Karate Championship? Netflix originally planned that for November 28th. However, they moved it up 13 days to November 15th! This way, we don’t have to wait as long to see what happens next. And I can’t wait!

The Boys season finale comes with a warning
July 18th, 2024 under Prime Video. [ Comments: none ]

Today, the season finale of The Boys dropped on Prime Video, and it came with a warning.

It reads: “Viewer discretion advised.

“This episode contains scenes of fictional political violence.
Any similarities to recent events are completely coincidental and unintentional.

“Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony Pictures Television and the producers of The Boys oppose, in the strongest terms, real-world violence of any kind.”

This warning was added due to Donald Trump being “shot” on Saturday. Even though the episode was filmed in 2023, it is not like The Boys is not The Simpsons, and it doesn’t predict real-life events. Or did it?

This trailer makes me want to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
July 18th, 2024 under Jenna Ortega, Michael Keaton. [ Comments: none ]

Beetlejuice is one of my favorite movies, so when I heard they were making a sequel, I was cautiously optimistic.

Then, we started getting glimpses of what we could expect from the film, which comes out on September 6th, and I was cautiously negative.

But that all changed today when I watched the second trailer for the film. Beetlejuice is back, baby!

Less Jenna Ortega and more Michael Keaton! I know she is Tim Burton’s muse, but she is overrated. And I say that as a former fan.

Can Matt Rife get redemption with his new Netflix special?
July 18th, 2024 under Matt Rife. [ Comments: none ]

Last year, Netflix aired its first comedy special with Matt Rife, and it was a critical bust. That is because he is known for his crowd work, and Natural Selection was his standup.

So, on August 13th, the comedian will get his redemption with an hour of just working the crowd. Matt Rife: Lucid was filmed at The Comedy Zone in Charlotte earlier this year.

I can’t wait to watch his TikTok for an hour because he is one of the best hecklers that has ever been.

Dexter’s back!
July 18th, 2024 under Showtime. [ Comments: none ]

Myrna Suarez/Paramount+ with Showtime

Dexter is ready to make a killing again on Paramot+ with Showtimune. However, not with Michael C. Hall this time. This time, we get to see how he became the man who he is now.

Set in 1991 Miami, DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Christain Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcements’ radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.

If that first image is any hint of what we can expect from the prequel, I can’t wait to watch it.
