Patti Lupone is one of the biggest names in Broadway Musicals in the last 50 years. However, the Tony winner says she is done with them.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever do another Broadway musical cause I just don’t think they’re very good right now. They’re not writing for me,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t know if I want to do eight shows a week in a Broadway musical, but I would do a play in a heartbeat.”
Someone needs to write a Musical for her, but it won’t be Andrew Lloyd Webber. That is because she told the trade, “Andrew Lloyd Webber is a narcissistic, insecure man,” when asked about Sunset Boulevard.
Believe it or not, late night hosts don’t write their own jokes. They have writers who do it for them.
One of those writers is Bryan Donaldson, and he works on Late Night. Yesterday, he wrote two dad jokes for Seth Meyers and the host was not thrilled with them.
So Meyers called his writer out on the show. And gave him a lesson on how to write a joke properly for television.
While the jokes were bad, they were also funny. And they were made even funnier because of the way Meyers jokingly went off on Donaldson.
Matt Rife’s standup became huge on TikTok. He was so huge that Netflix gave him a comedy special. However, viewers trashed it. But it still was a huge sucess.
Therefore, Deadline says that the streaming service wants two more specials. Not only that, but he is also working on a workplace sitcom at a gym that he will star in.
Deadline says that one of the comedy specials will be all crowd involvement. Hopefully, that will go better than Natural Selection.
