Back in December, Paramount+ picked up Why Women Kill for a third season, but today they killed the anthology series.
“Paramount+ has made the difficult decision not to move forward with Season 3 of ‘Why Women Kill,’” a Paramount+ spokesperson said in a statement to Variety. “We would like to thank our partners at CBS Studios and Imagine Television Studios, the amazing creator and showrunner Marc Cherry and the incredible writers, cast and crew for two memorable seasons.”
While I am sad about their decision, I am OK with it. The first season with Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu, and Alexandra Daddario was really entertaining because it took place over three different time periods that were all connected by the same house. The second season just dealt with one storyline, and it didn’t really have any real payoff.
CBS surprised everyone when they decided to cancel Magnum P.I. after five seasons. One of the people most surprised by that decision was NBC. So the network picked it up for two 10-episode seasons, according to Deadline.
Jay Hernandez, who plays the title role, wrote, “It was a bit circuitous but we did it!Your love & support helped get us over the finish line, thank you & thanks to @nbc for stepping up! Time to dust off the Aloha shirt! #ohana ❣️🍾😎🏝🌈🏎”
Congrats to the show for being saved from the brink of death. I am always when a series gets a second life. I just wish it were the shows I watched, but at least another TV fan is happy!
