The curtain goes down on Company for a final time on July 31st
June 22nd, 2022 under Broadway, Patti LuPone. [ Comments: none ]

Company survived pandemic closures and received 9 Tony nominations, but the lights will dim permanently on the Broadway musical at the end of next month.

They did not say why the show starring Patti LuPone is closing, but I have my theory. Yesterday, Broadway announced that masks will be optional come July 1st. And as we know, LuPone is a strong advocate for keeping them on. So I wonder if LuPone said she was done when the masks were done? And without her tickets sales would plummet.

When it comes to the mask mandate, I agree with her on this as the audience is packed in like sardines in a closed, confined room for 3 hours. You know, COVID-19 is going to start spreading faster than the news.

June 21st, 2022 under Coronavirus, Martha Stewart. [ Comments: 13 ]

Martha Stewart was supposed to attend an event today but was forced to cancel at the last minute.

“This evening, I planned to host a garden party at The Plaza on behalf of my favorite skincare line, @mariobadescu,” the homemaker wrote. “But I’m sad to report that I tested positive for Covid-19. I am feeling fine but i am sticking to the rules and isolating.”

Hopefully, the 80-year-old will be better soon.

BTWF: Joy Behar on Baby Boom
June 21st, 2022 under Before They Were Famous, The View. [ Comments: none ]

Before Joy Behar was babysitting her co-hosts on The View, she was a nanny on Baby Boom. She looks the same now as she did when 46 in that 1988 episode.

It was a Joy Behar first on The View
June 21st, 2022 under The View. [ Comments: none ]

Joy Behar has been with The View for most of its 25 years. Today, the host did something she has never done before. No, she was not quiet for the whole episode.

So what was it? She was seeing red. But wait, she was always seeing red. Yes, but today she was looking down at her pants and saw red and not black. In other words, it was the first time she didn’t wear black slacks on the show.

I wonder what omen she brought onto the show for doing this? I mean, a change like that is huge. Does that mean they will get someone even worse than Meghan McCain and Elisabeth Hasslebeck combined to co-host next season? We will find out soon enough.
