So Help Me Todd is a legal procedural with a family twist
September 29th, 2022 under CBS, Skylar Astin. [ Comments: none ]

Legal procedurals don’t have to be so uptight, they can be fun like CBS’s So Help Me Todd which debuts tonight at 9p.

Todd (Skylar Astin) is a PI who had his license revoked. He is irresponsible, unlike his mother, Margaret (Marcia Gay Harden), who is a top lawyer. All she wants is for her son to get his life back on track.

However, her life is about to go off track when her husband suddenly goes missing. Todd uses his magic to try to track him down, and that impresses his mom so much so that she decides to hire him at the firm where she works at so she can keep track of him and use his skills.

Not everyone is happy about his hire. Lyle (Tristen J. Winger) already does the firm’s research, and he thinks his way works best. He is very anal and doesn’t agree with Todd’s fly-by-the-seat ways. Can they win each other over?

Todd’s sister, Allison (Madeline Wise), is already on his side. She also has to be a buffer between her mother and her brother. Something that is not easy because she has to remember to keep their secrets and lies from the other one. She sometimes forgets what to hide. That and she gets caught in the middle. It makes it more difficult that her brother lives with her, and his mom wants him to grow up and get his own place.

Now that he is working with her, she is hoping she can get him in check. While he is hoping to get, his mom to loosen up. Little by little, they rub off on the other one. All while making sure that her clients get the best defense due to their skills.

This show is a procedural, but it also has a lot of heart. So it is the perfect dramedy to follow Ghosts and lead into CSI: Vegas. CBS has a must-see Thursday, and I am looking forward to next week and the week after that, and so on.

The Ghosts season premiere gets a 5-star Yelp review from me
September 29th, 2022 under Ghosts. [ Comments: none ]

Ghosts was the #1 new show of last year, and that is because it was the perfect amount of humor, naughtiness, and heart! So you have to wonder will it be as good for its second season, or will it suffer the sophomore slump? I am happy to tell you it is as funny and endearing as ever.

Tonight at 8:30p (its new timeslot) on CBS, Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and Samantha (Rose McIver) welcome their first guests at their just-opened B&B. However, unlike in the season finale, the couple doesn’t fall through the floor and hurt themselves. In fact, we find out what happened to them. Jay bumped his head really hard. Was it hard enough for him to see the Ghosts like his wife?

Back to the Ghosts. Sam and Jay tell Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones), Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), Pete (Richie Moriarty), Trevor (Asher Grodman), Flower (Sheila Carrasco), Thor (Devan Chandler Long), Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), and Sass (Román Zaragoza) that they have to be on their best behavior when the guests get there.

However, it is the livings who have to be on their best behavior because the guests are the type of people who thrive on giving bad Yelp reviews. Can Sam and Jay win them over, or will the Bed & Breakfast be doomed before they even get a second guest?

You will have to tune in to find out on the show that everyone should be watching because it is what we have been longing for, a show that is enjoyable to watch and doesn’t make you feel like you have an incurable illness. But if you did, then maybe you can move with Sam, Jay, and the Ghosts! Win/win!!!

September 29th, 2022 under Bruce Springsteen. [ Comments: none ]

Bruce Springsteen announced today that he is releasing a new album on November 11th. Only the Strong Survive is unlike anything else he is done. That is because a record full of Soul, Gospel, and Motown covers.

“I wanted to make an album where I just sang. And what better music to work with than the great American songbook of the Sixties and Seventies? I’ve taken my inspiration from Levi Stubbs, David Ruffin, Jimmy Ruffin, the Iceman Jerry Butler, Diana Ross, Dobie Gray, and Scott Walker, among many others,” The Boss said. “I’ve tried to do justice to them all—and to the fabulous writers of this glorious music. My goal is for the modern audience to experience its beauty and joy, just as I have since I first heard it. I hope you love listening to it as much as I loved making it.”

Mila Kunis forgot her underwear for her Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance
September 29th, 2022 under Jimmy Kimmel, Mila Kunis. [ Comments: none ]

Mila Kunis was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday, and she had the perfect dress brought in for it. However, that was all she had brought in for her. The actress revealed that she wasn’t wearing any underwear when she showed up to the show, so her see-thru dress would’ve been revealing had it not been for the generosity of others.

Her publicist lent the actress her bra, her manager gave her socks, and the costume department converted children’s leggings into panties.

Why was Mrs. Ashton Kutcher going commando? She said that is a whole other story but didn’t tell it. That is what the audience should’ve booed her about instead of her distaste for pizza, although it was understandable.

Jason Alexander won’t respond to George
September 29th, 2022 under Jason Alexander. [ Comments: none ]

So you know how certain celebs won’t respond to their former character names? Well, Jason Alexander is one of those celebs. However, it is not because he is an asshole like all of the other stars.

“It is the one thing I don’t answer to, not because I’m stuffy about it,” the Seinfeld actor tells Rachael Ray on her talk show tomorrow. “But, if you yell out ‘I can’t stand you,’ I turn around. If you yell out ‘shrinkage,’ I turn around, ‘I am the master of my domain,’ I turn around. But every now and then when it was early, people would go ‘George’ and I’d go ‘Oh, they know me from the show’ and I’d turn around and they’re calling someone named George and I’d look like such a schmo.”

I wonder what he would do if you yelled fire at him. George Costanza has some unforgettable, hilarious moments.

So, if you see Alexander in public, make sure to scream out George Costanza, and not just George, if you want him to acknowledge you.
