Want to stay at the Home Alone house?
December 1st, 2021 under Airbnb. [ Comments: none ]

Airbnb

Airbnb has given us some cool places to stay over the years like the last Blockbuster and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s home. Now, they are giving us the chance to spend the night at the Home Alone house in Chicago for $25.

One person can bring three other people with them to stay at the McCallisters’ abode on December 12th.

During your stay, you get:

A cozy holiday scene with twinkling lights and a perfectly t/rimmed tree in celebration of the season./

Booby traps galore (but don’t worry – you’ll be setting them, not sidestepping them!).

Surprisingly searing splashes of aftershave and ample opportunity to scream into the mirror.

All the ’90s favorites their hearts desire, including plenty of Chicago’s finest pizza and a candlelit dinner of microwavable Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

A meet and greet with a real-life tarantula.

A viewing of the film franchise’s newest holiday adventure, Home Sweet Home Alone.

A LEGO Ideas Home Alone set to take and build at home.

If this is your dream come true, then you can apply to be a Kevin at Airbnb Home Alone on December 7th.

James Van Der Beek gives parenting advice
December 1st, 2021 under James Van Der Beek. [ Comments: 1 ]

James Van Der Beek has more kids than we have fingers on one hand. Therefore, he has learned a thing or two about parenting. Since he has six kids, he has learned how to CALLLM a crying baby to sleep. And he is sharing that secret with us.

It is all about being CALLLM with a newborn infant, like his son Jeremiah. What does that acronym stand for? It is Connection, Acceptance, Love, Listen, List, and Magic. He explains what each word means in the video. Obviously, it is working because look at the little guy sleeping like an angel.

I wonder by which kid he was able to perfect this method. Was it with Olivia, 11, Joshua, 9, Annabel, 7, Emilia, 5, or Gwendolyn, 3? I am guessing it was with Jeremiah, less than two months.

After watching this video, I think that someone should give him and his wife, Kimberly, a show about how to be a parent. I think he would be really good at it.

Alec Baldwin gives his first sit-down interview to George Stephanopoulos
December 1st, 2021 under Alec Baldwin. [ Comments: none ]

Back in late October, Alec Baldwin accidentally shot and killed the cinematographer of the movie he was working on, along with injuring the director with the same bullet. Somehow the actor was handed a gun with live ammunition, and he didn’t know it.

Since then, he has taken part in impromptu chats with the media on the street. But he has not done a sit-down interview since then. Tomorrow night at 8p, he will talk to ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos about that day and the days since.

The anchor said this interview “was the most intense” one he has done in the last 20 years because Baldwin is so raw.

I feel for Baldwin because other people screwed up, leading to him accidentally killing someone. Something that never should have happened after what happened to Jon Erik Hexum and Brandon Lee. However, I hope his hubris doesn’t come out during this interview. It doesn’t help that Stephanopoulos is cold and robotic. That lack of empathy could cause Baldwin to say something he shouldn’t, which brings me back to hubris.

I will be watching this episode. And I will also watch next week’s 20/20, on December 10th, where they take a look at how the investigation into the shooting is going so far.

Dave Grohl goes all Barry Manilow
November 30th, 2021 under Foo Fighters. [ Comments: none ]

It is the third night of The Hanukkah Sessions, and tonight Dave Grohl went to the Copacabana! As in the place that a certain singer made famous. Or as the Foo Fighters’ singer put it, “Barry Pincus – not only one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th (or any) century, but a mega-mensch to boot!

“So, like a good neighbor, you deserve a break today. So grab a bucket of chicken and let’s get stuck on…BARRY MANILOW’S “Copacabana”!”

I have always wondered what it would be like to go to a Bar Mitzvah in Minnesota. Now, we know. And I want to be invited to one where Grohl and Grey Kurstin are the Mitzvah Men. Maybe that is what they can call their cover band of Jewish artists’ songs. Hopefully, they will do Helen Reddy’s I Am Woman before the holiday ends! Oy!
