Even though NBC announced their 2021-2022 schedule almost two weeks ago, they did not reveal the fate of all of their shows. There were four shows, Debris, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Good Girls, and Manifest, waiting to find out if they will be back next season.
I said were because today NBC cancelled Debris just days after the show’s, now series, finale, according to Variety.
I would tell you what it was about, but after watching a few episodes, I still have no idea. I guess I am not the only one, otherwise, it would have gotten a second season.
Hopefully, this bad news will be good news for the three shows I watch. I don’t want to lose any of them. Although Manifest did jump the ark, Noah’s Ark.
For 17 years, Friends’ fans have been waiting to see their Friends together again. Today, it finally happened on HBO Max.
Along with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, there were several guest appearances from people who appeared on the show and celebs who were fans of it. However, the two that interested me the most were the show’s creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman. They gave a lot of interesting tidbits. In fact, their reveals were better than whatever the cast told us.
What did we learn from Friends: The Reunion. We learned a lot but their five things that really caught my interest.
1 – The executive producers told us who turned down Friends because they quit acting. Someone close to them convinced them to steal Lisa Kudrow from Mad About You. She was not the only one on another show at the time. One actor begged to be released from the show they were on, while the other one got the blessing from a studio exec to leave the pilot and join Friends. And then there was the one who shared a scene with the actor who was also up for their role on the sitcom.
2 – David Schwimmer really hated the monkey. It is obvious; he still holds resentment towards the actor who played the cute Marcel.
3 – The actors would do a huddle before every show. The one time they didn’t, LeBlanc got hurt. We get to see how he hurt himself and how the writers wrote his injury into the show.
4 – There was one moment that was only supposed to be a one-time joke. However, it turned into something that lasted throughout the series’ run. That is because the fans asked for it, and the producers listened to them.
5 – You can see Schwimmer’s face on Matt LeBlanc during bloopers. Who came up with that idea? Who do you think?
I think fans of the show are going to love this special. If you are not, like me, then you will be bored and remember how irritating some of them are.
Val Kilmer has spent the last 40 years in front of the camera, but there has been a top secret project he has been working on since Top Secret. The actor has been shooting a documentary about his life, and Amazon Studios will release it later this year.
Val Kilmer said, “At least once a day for years I looked around and got this bittersweet feeling that there are a thousand reasons that this project could’ve been shipwrecked. I mean, what could a film look like of a man filming himself, sometimes daily, years at a time? It is unimaginable that this movie actually could’ve ever come to light without the partnership of my dear friends, Leo [Scott] and Ting [Poo], and my producing partners. Tireless hours of editing and endless emotions with each new cut! I couldn’t be more proud to share this with the world!”
It will cover the good times and the bad ones. It is an intimate look at an actor that has been misunderstood through his career. So much will be explained, and we will learn about the man that has played such iconic characters like Batman.
I, for one, have been a long-time fan and cannot wait to learn more about this man whose posters I had hanging from my wall.
Due to the pandemic, the Oscars had a longer eligibility period last year. Because of that, they shortened this year’s period. Therefore, only movies that are released between March 1, 2021, and Dec. 31, 2021, will be eligible to be nominated. Something that is fair because that is technically when movie theaters started to open up.
The Oscars is not only changing that date. They are also changing the date of the show. Instead of airing on February 27th, they will air a month later.
Hopefully, next year’s show will be better than this year’s. But then again, how can anything be worse.
The Kids in the Hall are reuniting for 8-episode series for Amazon Prime, and filming finally began yesterday. Mark McKinney shared a photo of himself with the other Kids, Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, and Scott Thompson. Seeing them together makes me want to smush all of their heads.
