January 8th, 2021 under Before They Were Famous. [ Comments: none ]

Before Linda Lavin was a waitress from New Jersey on Alice, she was a lawyer from New York on Family. She looks the same now as she did when she was 39 in that 1977 episode.

The head of The Bachelor disses the Survivor boss
January 8th, 2021 under The Bachelor. [ Comments: none ]

Mike Fleiss and Mark Burnett are two of the biggest reality show producers in showbusiness. Their next show might be to find out which Bachelor will the Survivor in their fight.

That is because Fleiss tweeted, “@MarkBurnettTV is a criminal and a fake Christian!” Those are some fighting words, and I can’t wait to hear what Burnett, the man that gave us Donald Trump, has to say.

Probably nothing because those people are all talk, but no bite. If the two men took their battle to the ring, I think Fleiss would win. However, if they took it to the bank, then I think Barnett would be the victor.

Ted Danson is endearing as Mr. Mayor
January 7th, 2021 under NBC, Ted Danson Mary Steenburgen. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Iq7pZDK4cE
Ted Danson gallantly returns to the NBC lineup tonight after almost a year away. The actor is in a good place with Mr. Mayor at 8p.

Los Angeles needs a new mayor because the old one had a mental breakdown. Mayor Neil Bremer (Danson), a retired businessman, who earned his billions in billboards, decides to run for the city’s top official and wins. He has no idea what he is doing, and his staff thinks he is the wrong person for the job. They might be right.

Mikaela (Vella Lovell) used her skills to get him elected, and she is having serious doubts about him being able to do the job. Tommy (Mike Cabellon), the Mayor’s aide, convinces her to stay on. She agrees to do it, as long as they can blame everything on Jayden (Bobby Moynihan), the only holdover from the last administration. He is a bumbling idiot, so their plan is brilliant. Or is it?

Almost as brilliant as Bremer’s decision to hire Arpi (Holly Hunter), his political archnemesis as his Deputy Mayor. She is out to get him. He knows it, and that is why he gave her the job. She figured that out, and that is why she took the job. Can the two rivals work together for the best of the city’s interests? Who will outsmart who first?

There is only one person who cannot outsmart him, and that is his teenage daughter, Orly (Kyla Kenedy). He ran for Mayor for her, and she wishes he didn’t. Will he be able to win her over?

Just like he is going to win over his constituents with all of the photo ops. For example, in tonight’s second episode, he goes from event to event nonstop. He hates them, but he doesn’t mind them as much after he eats some special gummy bears they got at the ribbon cutting for the LA’s 10,000th dispensary.

You will be laughing with Mr. Mayor like he is laughing after eating those edibles. I will warn you; you have to pay to the lines because they sneak in a lot of witty jokes. If you are not paying attention, you just might miss them.

You don’t want to miss them or a single episode because Danson and the sitcom bring the much-needed humor we all need these days. Since this is an ensemble show, they each bring their own dynamic and humor to the show.

Therefore, make sure to vote for all of them tonight and every Thursday.

Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay says he’s not the crazy QAnon Capitol Viking
January 7th, 2021 under Odd. [ Comments: 1 ]

Just in case you didn’t hear, Trump’s cult 45 followers stormed Capitol Hill yesterday. One of the traitors was dressed in a Viking like outfit with horns attached to his animal fur hat. Some people thought maybe he was Jay Kay, the lead singer of Jamiroquai. It is not him.

Therefore, the singer took to Twitter to let us know he was not there. “Good morning, World. Now, some of you may be thinking you saw me in Washington last night, but I am afraid I wasn’t with those freaks,” he said.

Kay is on the other side of the pond in England in lockdown. Thus, it would be virtual insanity to think he could be two continents at once.

Laverne Cox pulls out of Sell/Buy/Date
January 7th, 2021 under Laverne Cox. [ Comments: none ]

Laverne Cox signed on to produce Tony-winner Sarah Jones’ play Sell/Buy/Date as a documentary. However, after several people confronted her about the project, she opted to walk away from it.

“When I agreed to come on as an executive producer of ‘Sell, Buy Date,’ I did so because I was so deeply moved by Sarah Jones’ brilliant play and her unbelievable, undeniable talent as an artist, as an actor. I signed on to support her incredible talent. I have so much love for her as a human being,” Cox wrote. “But I am not in an emotional place to deal with the outrage by some around my participation in this project. So I have decided to pull out. To be clear I am no longer involved in any capacity in “Sell. Buy, Date.” I have to take care of my mental, physical and emotional health. This is all I have to say on the matter. Stay in the love, Laverne Cox.”

Cox did not elaborate on what the outrage is over her doing the project. Sell/Buy/Date tells the story of real-life experiences of people affected by the commercial sex industry through interviews with current and former sex workers, experts, and celebrities.
