For some reason, CBS and Pepsi think that The Weeknd is going to be an exciting halftime show at the Super Bowl this year. As with Maroon 5 and Coldplay, they are wrong.
Therefore, it looks like Pepsi is going to invest heavily into it, instead of in commercials during the football game.
Todd Kaplan, Pepsi’s vice president of marketing, told Varietys, “we are going to double down on our existing 12 minutes in the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show in the middle of the Super Bowl, and we are going to build it out like we have never built it out before.”
What that means, we will find out on February 7th. That is if we don’t fall asleep during his performance. It is not that his music is boring. It is just that it is not right for this stage. There is nothing about it that pumps you up. It is just too mellow. It goes better with pot and ecstasy than beer.

Ed Sheeran is changing things up next Friday with his music. Instead of being front and center, he remixed his friend Passenger’s new song Sword From The Stone. Just don’t expect to see his name on the track.
According to The Sun, he is going to go by Gingerbread Mix. I am assuming the Mix is Ginger for his hair, and Bread is for his skin that is as white as Wonder Bread.
What do you think of his DJ name? Good enough to eat, or he needs to go back to the recording to the studio?

I always think of Sean Penn as a serious man, but it turns out he does have a funny side to him. Something that he has been showing a lot of recently.
Case in point, today, he made a joke about Donald Trump’s instigated attack on Capitol Hill yesterday. “I don’t think it’s appropriate for the president to use the Capitol for open casting calls for ‘The Apprentice.’ 1100 S. Ocean Blvd in Palm Beach has more space,” Penn wrote.
Since there are rumors that Mark Burnett wants to revive The Apprentice with Trump, Penn might be onto something. It should be easy to produce. They can film it in whatever federal jail Trump and cult 45 members are all assigned to.
