Almost all of the late night hosts got their starts doing standup. Therefore, it is hard for them to do their nightly monologues without an audience and their laughter.
Now that competition shows are using canned laughter and fake applauds, Seth Meyers thought he would try it out on the Late Night show yesterday.
How did it go? It would go better for him if he used someone else besides Stage Manager Tom Ucciferri operate the machine. However, for us, it works better if Ucciferri is the man behind the machine. He has the best timing for Meyer’s jokes.
Saturday Night Live will be back with new episodes starting on October 3rd, and will go live every Saturday night throughout the month.
We know they have their Donald Trump in Alec Baldwin, Kamala Harris in Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon as everyone else but Joe Biden. Today, we found out who be impersonating the Presidential nominee, and it is Jim Carrey.
Did you have Jim Carrey as your choice? Does he have your vote? I have been racking my brain on that one for a few weeks, and Michaels got it right again.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Carrey hosts the season premiere from 30 Rock. Talking about them going back into Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center for the first time in six months, we found out that they will have a limited audience in the studio with them. If you thought getting tickets was hard before the coronavirus pandemic, it will be nearly impossible now on.
SNL also announced that they have added three new not ready for primetime players joining the show. To read their bios, then click here!
On October 4th, black-ish is getting a one-hour special on ABC. One of the two political based episodes will be animated.
Today, the network released the first look at the cartoonish versions of the Johnsons. They really captureed Tracee Ellis Ross, Lawrence Fishburne, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, and Marsai Martin. However, I cannot say the same for Anthony Anderson and Jenifer Lewis. I don’t know how those figures are supposed to be, but they are not Dre and his mother, Ruby.
Hopefully, they will look better when their animated characters are actually animated, and not just standing there.
Have you ever witnessed someone being attacked, and did nothing? What if that person died and then they decided to get revenge on all of those who did not to stop it, nor did they help him. That is the premise for Don’t Look Back.
The terrifying horror movie is from Jeffrey Reddick, the same evil genius who gave us Final Destination. Even in the trailer, I can see his brilliance at work. Thus, I will be watching it on October 16th, when it comes out in theaters and on home video.
I just might not be looking forward at the screen the whole time. You know, because it is too frightening for me to look at without my hands over my eyes.
I don’t know if you know this, but Lorraine Bracco is Italian. I mean, you might have been able to figure that out from her roles in The Goodfellas, The Sopranos, or Rizolli and Isles.
Anyways, her family has ties to Sicily. Therefore, when the actress saw that they are selling houses on the tiny hilltop town of Sambuca di Sicilia for one Euro, she had to buy one. There are just some problems with the 200-year-old home she acquired. It has no electricity, running water, kitchen or bathrooms, and it needs to be gutted due to its deteriorating floors, crumbling walls and dilapidated roof.
“This is a huge undertaking,” said Bracco. “I’m not a contractor. I’m not a decorator. I’m an actress. I’ve never done this before. I have no idea what I’m really getting into! It’s a lot of work, but everything is possible. I believe that. And for one euro, we’ll see!”
It is a big job for anyone to do, so she called up HGTV and asked them for help. She is not going to do it alone. She will have assitance from her contractor Piero, their translator Cynthia, some of her American friends, and the locals of the town.
This is a town whose mayor came up with the idea to sell these homes for cheap in order to encourage families to return to the rural oasis. Bracco has three years to complete the renovation. Something that will be easy to do with HGTV by her side.
We can watch her take on her hardest role to date in My Big Italian Adventure, starting on October 30th. Until then, I will be rewatching her in one my favorite movies Sing. If you have never seen it, it is a must watch.
