BTWF: Mary Steenburgen and Christopher Lloyd in Goin’ South
April 14th, 2020 under Before They Were Famous, Taxi, Ted Danson Mary Steenburgen. [ Comments: none ]

Before Mary Steenburgen and Christopher Lloyd were in love in Back to the Future 3, she married Jack Nicholson to save him from Lloyd in Goin’ South. They look the same now as they did when he was 39, and she was 24 in that 1978 movie.

As soon as I saw that the two actors, who went on to play lovers were in the same movie a decade earlier, I wondered if it was a coincidence that they worked together again in BTTF3. Therefore, I got on Twitter and asked the lovely and talented actress if that was the case. Mary Steenburgen told me, “Coincidence re BTF3, and yes, I think Jack loved working with Chris in OFOTCN. I loved working with them both so much. I owe Jack everything. He was a great mentor.”

I also asked in that Tweet if Lloyd got his job on Goin’ South because he worked with Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

As you can tell, my brain is filled with lots of useless information.

New Amsterdam ends its season without a cliffhanger!

I love New Amsterdam because it throws a straight arrow. It doesn’t do BS stunts like other medical shows. That was until last year’s season finale when several characters were involved in an ambulance crash and one of them died. We did not find out until the fall who it was.

Anyways, that was then. This year almost every shows’ season was cut short because of Coronavirus, including the NBC drama. Tonight, they will be airing their final filmed episode of the season at 9p. However, there was another episode that was completed this year. That one was about a pandemic, and the producers and the networks thought it was too close to home to air. It will air later on.

Now that we got that out of the way, tonight we meet a new character on the show. Dr. Cassian Shin (Daniel Dae Kim) joins the team as the head trauma surgeon. His methods are much different than Sharpe’s (Freema Agyeman) and the two of them butt heads. Will they be able to work together?

Max (Ryan Eggold) meets a boy and his parents and he knows something is wrong with the child, They do some tests and the boy has an incurable disease that will take his life before he is 30. There are some trials being done and Max will try to get him into one. Will he be able to charm his way into one like everything else he does?

Dr. Bloom’s (Janet Montgomery) ER is crashing, as in all of the patients keep crashing. She needs to figure out why before she loses a patient.

Dr. Kapoor (Anupam Kher) wishes he could lose a patient’s wife. That is because she keeps hitting on him. How will he handle the attention?

Tonight’s episode is a perfect ending for a perfect season. I will miss having new episodes until the show comes backs at some time.

American Idol will go live on April 26th
April 14th, 2020 under American Idol 9+. [ Comments: none ]

American Idol

Are you like me, and have you been wondering how American Idol will go live for the live shows while we are all being quarantined all over the United States? Today, Ryan Seacret gave us an update.

The first live show will be on April 26th, with Seacrest in…his Los Angeles house. Also, from that city will be the pregnant Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. While they will be in their homes in LA, Luke Bryan and Bobby Bones will be sitting on their couches in Nashville.

When it comes to the contestants, they will be singing from their homes. I wonder how they will handle the accompanying music? It would be nice if it is all about the singers’ voices and not the instruments. That is one of the problems I have with Idol. The music is too overpowering.

What do you think of the at-home version of American Idol?

Demi Lovato reveals who she is still friends with from her Disney years
April 14th, 2020 under Demi Lovato. [ Comments: none ]

Back in the 2000s, Demi Lovato was friends with all of the Disney stars because she was one of them. She starred in a telemovie with Jonas Brothers and series with Selena Gomez. Is she still friends with her high school buddies today?

She told Harper’s Bazaar that she still talks to Miley Cyrus, “She’s awesome, and I love her to death and always will, always have. But I think she’s kind of the only one from that era that I still stay in touch with.”

What about Gomez who praised Lovato’s Grammy performance earlier this year on Instagram? She said “When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them. But I’m not friends with her, so it felt…” The magazine says she paused before adding, “I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.”

I am sure the feeling is mutual for Nick, Joe, Kevin, and Selena. No love lost for them either.

CBS unfriends Gd Friended Me
April 14th, 2020 under Gd Friended Me. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCoruzOIEnw
CBS had one drama on their network that everyone in the family could watch together. I say had because Deadline is reporting that CBS canceled Gd Friended Me. The show’s second season finale on April 26th will also be its last episode.

The site says that the producers knew ahead of time that it would not be back for a third go-around, so they will be able to wrap everything up. I bet you Mile’s sister dies from breast cancer, and he tells Gd what he can do with himself. Then he and Cara run away, get married, and use his sister’s egg to have a baby.

Can you tell I am going to miss this show? Will you miss it too?

When my friend said she was surprised that they canceled it, I thought it made sense. CBS only has police procedurals on their network, they don’t know how to do anything but that. Which is why the only dramas I watch are on CBS are FBI (because it is a Dick Wolf show) and Blue Bloods (because Tom Selleck is still sexy).
