Seth MacFarlane announced today that his live-action show The Orville will be moving from Fox to Hulu for its third season late next year.
The show creator explained, “My friends at the network understood what I was trying to do with this series, and they’ve done a spectacular job of marketing, launching and programming it for these past two seasons. But as the show has evolved and become more ambitious production-wise, I determined that I would not be able to deliver episodes until 2020, which would be challenging for the network.
“So we began to discuss how best to support the third season in a way that worked for the show. It’s exactly this kind of willingness to accommodate a show’s creative needs that’s made me want to stick around for so long. I am hugely indebted to Charlie Collier and FOX Entertainment for their generosity and look forward to developing future projects there. And to my new friends at Hulu, I look forward to our new partnership exploring the galaxy together.”
I think this is a good move for the show. There is so much more they can do on a streaming site than they can on broadcast. That and they will give him the time he needs to make this the best show possible. For example, he was editing the finale up until right before it aired. Not that it showed on air. Plus, I am assuming they can cuss now. Something a show like this needs every now and again.
When it comes to The Orville. I am not a fan of space shows like Star Trek. However, I love this show. It is the perfect mix of Sci-Fi, drama, heart and Seth MacFarlane. What more do you need?
When it comes to what will replace it, Fox has not said. I am sure a reality show, but you never know they still owe is Cosmos season 2.

Somehow I missed the biggest story of the week. Ted Cruz was on Fox News this week when suddenly a spider appeared on his lips and he inhaled it live on air. I guess it was bigger than the other bugs he is used to eating because he started to choke. Kind of like when he ran for President.
I don’t know where the bug came from, so I am just assuming he crawled out of his beard. Who knows what is in that thing? Doesn’t the facial hair make him look even creepier than he did before? And he was plenty creepy looking.
Now let’s get back to the spider, I hope it was not radioactive. We don’t need him to become a superhero. How frightening would that be?
John Carpenter announced today that we are getting not one but two more Halloween movies. On October 16, 2020, Halloween Kills comes out. Then the saga continues on October 15, 2021, with Halloween Ends.
He did elaborate on what those titles mean, but I think we can all assume that this version of the franchise will be over with Ends.
I might be in the minority but I was not wowed by last year’s Halloween. It was too slow and did not add anything to the Halloween movies. I hope they do a little more than just Lauri and Michael’s story and let him kill away as he did in the ’70s and ’80s.
Shudder released the first trailer for their reboot of Creepshow and I cannot wait for the series to debut on September 26th. Some people said the It: Chapter 2 trailer was scary. It does not have anything on the series. This looks like it is going to be the horror series we have been craving and have not been getting.
Not only will they be doing 12 new episodes over 6 weeks, but there are also plenty of great stars appearing in them like Kid Cudi, Jeffrey Combs, Bruce Davison, DJ Qualls, Adrienne Barbeau, Giancarlo Esposito, David Arquette, Tobin Bell, Tricia Helfer and Dana Gould.
The best part, this season they are not doing the cockroach episode. If you saw the original 1982 movie, then you know why I am grateful for that. I hate bugs and that segment still gives me nightmares.

Ever since The Office ended in 2013, fans of the show have wanted to know when it will be coming back. NBC even hinted it was thinking of reviving the show. Yet the cast says they know nothing about it.
Yesterday, when Ellie Kemper was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a caller asked her if we will ever get a reboot? She told them, “I would love there to be a reboot!” Then she added, “But I don’t think there will be so that is a sad answer.”
Are you sad because of her sad answer? Or are you like it ended when it needed to end?
