Even though most of us were not around in 1969, it is still hard to believe that this summer will mark the 50th anniversary of Woodstock. To honor the occasion, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will open their land up again for a 3-day music festival starting on August 16th that will also include TED Talks and exhibitions.
Since they are in the early phases of planning, we do not know who will be playing there and how much the tickets will cost. I would expect them to be expensive.
As cool as I think this is, I don’t think you can ever recreate that once-in-a-lifetime experience. Plus, you don’t have performers today like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison. Not only because they are dead, but also because their music had a much deeper meaning. Now it is all about selling out and autotune and not about getting the message across to their fans.
I am sure they are going to try to get the Beyonces and Lady Gagas, but they are not The Who, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and Sha Na Na. How did I not know that Sha Na Na performed at Woodstock?
Are you going to go or are you like what the world does not need now is another music festival?
Anyone who watches The Goldbergs knows that we see Jeff Garlin in his tighty whities and a T-shirt a lot on the ABC sitcom. Therefore, he feels comfortable walking around wearing just that. The other day during a break from filming, he did the Twist to Chuck Berry’s Brown Eyed Handsome Man. Something he admits, and we know, he is.
Now we also know he has sexy legs that do magical things when he dances. Aren’t they hypnotizing?
Michael Fishman celebrated his 18th birthday by getting married to Jennifer Briner. Shortly before the two celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary, they separated. Yesterday, over a year later, they made their separation legal according to TMZ.
No reason was given for the split, but I have to wonder if the success of the Roseanne revival played into it.
Although their marriage not only beat the odds of Hollywood, it also beat the odds of other child stars by 18 years.
The couple have two teenage children, Aaron and Jamie.
UPDATE: They might no longer be a couple, but they are still a family. Here is Michael Fishman, his estranged wife and their two children having breakfast yesterday.
We all have our own little party tricks and Keira Knightley showed hers off on The Graham Norton Show today. She can play Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head using her fingers and her teeth. If you close your eyes, you can actually hear the Burt Bacharach tune. Pretty impressive.
Although, I do not recommend trying it at home or at parties because it hurts. I know I should have started with that line because you already flicked your finger on your teeth and are feeling that weird sensation.
Therefore, from now on, do like Dolly Parton and just plays your nails like a washboard. I promise you there is no pain involved with that. Plus, it sounds really cool when you finally master it.
