Did Ed O’Neill confirm that Modern Family is ending next year?
January 25th, 2018 under Modern Family. [ Comments: none ]

There was a recently a report in Forbes that Modern Family is ending next season, but no one asked any of the cast members if it is true. Today when Ed O’Neill was on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, she straight out asked him.

The show’s patriarch told her, “We are contracted through 10 and then it is open ended, but the feeling is it is probably going to be it.” Then when she asked if the rest of the cast feels the same way, he said, “I don’t know how they feel about going on, I just, you know we are contracted through 10 and then we’ll see. But I don’t know.” It is almost like he spoke when he shouldn’t have because the network has yet to announce next season as the final one. What do you think?

He also talked about how he got the job, almost lost it and then got it back it, and what is next for him when Modern Family officially ends.

Will you be sad to see this sitcom go away? I don’t know about you, but I am ready to move on.

And make sure to watch the whole interview above to hear how he doesn’t recognize the most famous of stars in the world when they tell him that they are a huge fan.

Will Oprah Winfrey run for president in 2020?
January 25th, 2018 under Oprah Winfrey. [ Comments: none ]

Remember Oprah Winfrey’s empowering speech at the Golden Globes? It was so inspiring that you said you said to yourself that she should run for president in 2020? Then you wondered if she would? InStyle wondered too, so they asked her. Here is what she told them:

I actually saw a mug the other day … I thought it was a cute mug. All you need is a mug and some campaign literature and a T-shirt. I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it. Gayle—who knows me as well as I know myself practically—has been calling me regularly and texting me things, like a woman in the airport saying, “When’s Oprah going to run?” So Gayle sends me these things, and then she’ll go, “I know, I know, I know! It wouldn’t be good for you—it would be good for everyone else.” I met with someone the other day who said that they would help me with a campaign. That’s not for me.

How disappointed are you that we will not be saying President Oprah Winfrey in 3 years? I am so sad, I am going to have order something from Oprah’s Favorite Things list to make me feel better.

Jack McGee responds to giving This Is Us’ Jack the fatal Crock-Pot
January 25th, 2018 under This Is Us. [ Comments: none ]

https://youtu.be/X05MC1nsARo
For 7 seasons, Jack McGee played a fire chief on Rescue Me. On Tuesday, he played George, a guy who gave the Pearsons a Crock-Pot Slow Cooker that lead to the fire that killed Jack on This Is Us. Within seconds of that reveal, he became one of the most hated men in the United States. Yesterday, he responded to his new status on Twitter with three very funny Tweets. First he Tweeted, “Just found out my approval rating , thanks to ‘ This is Us ‘ is lower then the shithole !!” Then he followed it up with, “I’m gonna have to build a wall… what a Crock !!!” And finally he said, “#thisisus I guess my approval rating as ‘George’ is lower then the crock pot in the whitehouse… Mueller wants to see me!”

Talking about the Crock-Pot Slow Cooker, the company was bombarded with several hate comments on their Facebook Community Page and responded with humor and reassurance their product is safe.

Crock-Pot Slow Cooker took so much heat (not sure if the pun was intended) that This Is Us’ creator Dan Fogelman pleading with the fans of the drama to cool down. He said, “Taking a moment to remind everyone that it was a 20 year old fictional crockpot with an already funky switch? Let’s not just lump all those lovely hardworking crockpots together. #ThisIsUs.” As of now, he has not said anything to defend McGee, who is the most hated character on TV since we found out Miguel is now married to his best friend’s wife.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for February 4th to see the This Is Us episode that reveals all about Jack’s death.

Imagine John Laroquette as The Outsiders’ Ponyboy
January 25th, 2018 under Brat Pack, C. Thomas Howell. [ Comments: none ]

Back in 1983, 8 virtual unknowns starred in a little movie called The Outsiders and all of their acting careers and lives changed forever. Today if you say Ponyboy to someone, they will immediately picture C Thomas Howell in their heads. But there was someone else who screened for the role.

Yesterday on The Librarians, John Laroquette wore a jean vest and his co-star Rebecca Romijn revealed that this was not the first time he wore it on camera. He wore it 35 years ago to audition for the cult classic, and as we know he did not get the role.

Which makes you wonder what would have happened to the two actors had the role gone to the Laroquette. Does that mean Dan Fielding would have played the Soul Man and the Soul Man would have gone to play Dan Fielding in Night Court. Imagine how different their careers would have been? I am glad it turned out the way it did because their roles are perfect just the way they are.
