In case you have not heard, today will be the first total solar eclipse of the 21st century. That means you are going to want to go outside and watch as the moon blocks the sun from the earth’s view. If you choose to do that, do it with those special solar glasses or that will be the last thing you see.
If you are too afraid to do that, then do what I will be doing. I will be watching Night of the Comet praying that is just a movie and the same thing does not happen to us. Yes, it was a comet, but it is the same thing because people will be outside looking at the sky with their special glasses. Right?

Jerry Lewis passed away today at the age of 91 in Las Vegas according to Las Vegas Review Journal.
He will forever be known as the King of Comedy because no one brought humor to the big screen like him in movies like The Nutty Professor, The Bellboy, Cinderfella and so many more. While he made us laugh until we cried, he also made us cry when he hosted the annual Jerry Lewis Telethon for the MDA for 44 years. Now without him, Labor Day will never be the same.
For 10 years, his partner was Dean Martin. He was the serious guy to Lewis’ clown. They were pair made in cinematic heaven and now, thanks to them reuniting in 1976 after a nasty breakup, they are in entertaining everyone up there with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. While not a member of the Rat Pack, they still all go hand in hand together.
Today, keep his comedic genius alive by rewatching or discovering one of his many hilarious movies. There has never been a comedian like him and there will never be one like him again.
On a personal note, I am so glad that I got to see him host one of his telethons live when I just moved to Los Angeles. When I was a kid, I would look forward to Labor Day just to watch it all night long. I never made it through a whole one, but I enjoyed every minute I got to see. There was something so magical about watching all these legends come on and share the screen with him on live television. He was a true master and we are better for the 91 years he had on this Earth.
John Stamos turned 54, the big 5-4, yesterday and he celebrated it by wearing nothing. All I have to say is thank you for my present, sorry I did not buy you anything!
Andrew Dice Clay’s series that is very loosely based on his life is back on Showtime tonight at 10:30p and it actually makes you like the controversial comic because he is so self-deprecating about himself.
On the season premiere of Dice, he meets a rabbi who shows him what life would be like if he never created his alter ego. Everyone but him is better off without the Diceman in their lives. But are the lives of his girlfriend Carmen (Natasha Leggero),his best friend Milkshake (Kevin Corrigan) and David Arquette really better without him? You do not want to miss this episode that shows what Andrew Clay Silverstein would be without comedy.
Then next week, you meet his manager (Cedric Yarbrough) who sucks at his job, and his stalker (Billy Gardell) who has moved on from stalking him. Dice cannot handle not having an obsessed fan and goes too far to prove that he is still stalking him.
On the third episode, Ron Livingston plays a role you have never seen him play before and I want to see him act like that more often. That is all I will say because it is something you need to experience for yourself along with the Tony Orlando performance!
They say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. I am so happy this comedy did not stay there.
