It has been over 20 years since That Thing You Do came out and Tom Everett Scott, Johnathon Schaech and Ethan Embry can still jam like they did back then.
On Tuesday night the movie band reunited at the Roxy with Josh Adam Meyers as their lead vocals. How did it come about? Meyers told The Laugh Button that Scott attended some of Meyers tapings of The Comedy Jam that airs on Comedy Central, the show Meyers hosts, and he asked the actor if they would like to do a reunion at The Goddamn Comedy Jam. At first he said no, but Scott’s brother in law, who produces The After Jam, worked his magic on him and got him to say yes. Now it was time to get the other bandmates on board. As soon as Embry and Schaech heard about it they were in, but Steve Zahn was working on a movie. They waited until he was done, but since he lives in Kentucky he wasn’t able to do it. Instead they put a mask on someone who represented him on stage.
Even though it isn’t the full band, it is still beyond groovy. I love how much Embry got into it. He really went all out. So did Scott who played the drums like a pro! It had to be a total blast for them to rock out again like they did in the 1964. Since they are all musicians, maybe they can go on tour. Could you imagine if The Oneders really hot the road together? I would go seem them do That Thing They Do!
For most of Stefan Brogren’s life he has played the good guy Archie Simpson in the Degrassi franchise. It seems like Snake is sick of that goody two shoes image and wants to change things up. His Zit Remedy’s bandmate Pat Mastroianni aka Joey Jeremiah shared this photo of his childhood friend holding an axe and he looks really scary. Maybe it is time they do another Horror movie at Degrassi and he is the killer killing off all of his students.
A young couple went to pose for their pre-Prom photos and their parents were all excited to snap them as they came down the stairs. Only problem is Austin was wearing brand new shoes on hardwood floor steps and you know what happened next. He slipped down them. Giving Jordyn and him a night they will never forget!
The morale of the story is boys make sure to scratch up the bottom of your shoes before you get ready for the Prom or expect to land on your butt!
I don’t know about you, but I always thought they only ate freeze dried food and drank Tang on the International Space Station. Turns out they also eat food like we do here on Earth.
NASA Astronaut Shane Kimbrough gave us a demonstration on how they make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in Space and it isn’t as easy as it is here. First they have to tape or Velcro the ingredients down so they don’t float away. To make matters even worse for them, they don’t have bread up there, so they have to use Tortillas. Then they do what we do down here, but instead of making sure the cap doesn’t fall on the floor, they have to make sure it doesn’t get sucked up into the air conditioning system. Once it is all done, it is time to enjoy one of the World and Outer Space’s favorite comfort food. With that I am now craving PB&J and I have none of the things I need to make one.
BTW who else was else was fixated on the Sriracha sauce bottle and wonder what they use it for up there?
Hoda Kotb is a new mom, so she is a little more forgetful about things these days. For example, today she wore a brand new dress on Today and she forgot something. She left the price tag on her dress and Al Roker was more than happy to point that out when they were live on the air. Instead of getting upset about it, she laughed it off in the cutest possible way!
Just one question I have, does the NBC morning news show make them buy their own clothes? Shouldn’t the show be doing that?
