When Seth Meyers first started out, I thought he would never last. After doing the job for two years, I think he has more than proven himself as the host of Late Night and deserves to stick around for a while. I am not alone because NBC announced today at their TCA Press Day that he signed a new contract for 5 more years.
If you gave up him, come back. I think he is one of the top interviewers and he is also the strongest late night host when it comes to covering politics. With the Presidential election still almost 10 months away, we need to someone to make fun of these laughable candidates in smart and entertaining way. He’s the answer.
Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the people who brought the Broadway version of Hairspray to the big screen are now going to bring it to the small screen. NBC’s Entertainment President Bob Greenblatt announced today at the NBC TCA Press Day that it looks like Hairspray will be the live musical this December. They haven’t closed the deal yet, but it is very very close.
As soon as it becomes official, I am wishing and hoping that they announce that David Hasselhoff is cast as Edna Turnblad. A role originated by Divine and later played by John Travolta. How amazing would that be? When it comes to Edna’s husband, I am wishing and hoping they don’t have Christopher Walken reprise role after his performance in Peter Pan. Scratch that, let’s hope they bring him back for his second live NBC musical along with Queen Latifah, who just appeared in The Wiz. Why is December 11 months away?
Disney Channel and Disney Junior found a way to make their target audience, 2-7 year olds, even happier than when they walk into a candy store! How? On February 14th, Olaf is coming to Sofia the First. If you don’t have anyone under 7 in your lives, then you will not get how huge this is, but I do. I so wish I could go to her school right now and break the news to her first grade class. They would be jumping for joy because Sofia the First and Frozen are like two of their favorite things.
So parents if you want to have sex on Valentine’s Day, but didn’t think you could because you have kids. Now you can, just put on Disney and let them watch this over and over and over and over again!
The International Animal Rescue has two baby orangutans in their care and they recently decided to introduce Gito and Asoka to each other. As soon as they met, it was love at first sight. So much so, they moved faster than I do on first dates.
Seriously though, isn’t this the cutest thing you will see all day!
Jack Hanna was on The Late Late Show and he came out ready to make the men poop in the pants. It looked innocent enough when he was holding a bouquet of yellow roses, but they held a secret. There were scorpions in there and he placed them on Amar’e Stoudemire and James Corden. The NBA player’s went on to his crotch and wouldn’t let go and the CBS late night host’s remained on his chest.
That was until the animal expert was ready for his next animal. Hanna put a glove on Corden’s arm and before James could react, he had a vulture on him. You could tell he didn’t like that because he got bleeped longer than his predecessor Craig Ferguson ever did.
Finally, he brought out the last animal, a huge lizard who likes to eat meat. As James was feeding him, he put his hand down to low and Hanna warned him about it. At that point you can tell that the host really needed a new pair of pants!
And that is why I always love when animal experts do late night television! None of the hosts like it, but we do!
