via Just for Laughs
Before Jon Stewart was telling political jokes nigthly on The Daily Show, he was telling them in comedy clubs whenever he could. His jokes are just relevant today as the first time he told them in 1992 when he was 29 years old.

NBC suspends Brian Williams for six months
February 10th, 2015 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW6AbX2q0fM
For the last week people have been waiting to find out what NBC will do to Brian Williams, now that it has come out that he has lied about some of the details in the stories he has reported on during his tenure with the network.
NBC News released a statement and here are the first two paragraphs, “We have decided today to suspend Brian Williams as Managing Editor and Anchor of NBC Nightly News for six months. The suspension will be without pay and is effective immediately. We let Brian know of our decision earlier today. Lester Holt will continue to substitute Anchor the NBC Nightly News.
“Our review, which is being led by Richard Esposito working closely with NBCUniversal General Counsel Kim Harris, is ongoing, but I think it is important to take you through our thought process in coming to this decision.”
The anchor will be back in time for the new television season in September.
Will we have forgotten his faux pas by then? Can we trust him again? I say yes. His lies didn’t hurt anyone. Think what the so called news anchors are doing every night on cable news. Giving their opinions and forcing their politics down our throats. To me that is a lot worse than a few little lies. What is your take on the whole Brian Williams scandal?

Breaking news: Jon Stewart is signing off from The Daily Show
February 10th, 2015 under Comedy Central. [ Comments: none ]

Are you sitting down? First fans of Comedy Central’s news block lost Stephen Colbert to CBS and now they are losing Jon Stewart to retirement. The comedian announced his departure during tonight’s taping of The Daily Show according to Entertainment Weekly. What he has planned, we will not know until we tune in. But we do know he will not be leaving until later this year. When, we don’t know, but we should just appreciate whatever time we have left with him until he is just yesterday’s news.
Here is Comedy Central‘s statement about it:

“For the better part of the last two decades, I have had the incredible honor and privilege of working with Jon Stewart. His comedic brilliance is second to none. Jon has been at the heart of Comedy Central, championing and nurturing the best talent in the industry, in front of and behind the camera. Through his unique voice and vision, The Daily Show has become a cultural touchstone for millions of fans and an unparalleled platform for political comedy that will endure for years to come. He is a comic genius, generous with his time and talent, and will always be a part of the Comedy Central family.”

So where will all those people who tuned in to get their news from him, get their updates on today’s news? Maybe they will switch the channel to watch a real newsman like Brian Williams. You know, if NBC fires Williams, then maybe they can get him to take over The Daily Show? Seriously, I wonder who they will get to replace him? Will John Oliver be able to get out of his HBO contract to take over? Will they go with someone outside the franchise? Will they get rid of the show? Hey wait, David Letterman will be out of a job in May? And Jay Leno has been out of work since last February? I am still liking Brian Williams best for the job. Who is your money on? Or do you need some time to soak in the news?

Richard Gere’s people would allegedly deny this Family Feud answer
February 10th, 2015 under Reba McEntire, Steve Harvey. [ Comments: none ]

Family Feud asked 100 people, “Name something a doctor might pull out of a person?” and the contestants had to guess what those individuals said. Darci was quick to buzz in and she said, “gerbil.” As soon as she realized what word just came out of her mouth, she shook her head in shame and disgust. While she was doing that, Steve Harvey just stared at her dumbfounded and her competitor, Manny, laughed at her with the best laugh I’ve heard in a while.
So was the answer on the board? Hell no. But it will forever be in our thoughts. Just like the urban legend about Richard Gere, you know, the one. I never thought that there was any truth to it, but yet every now and again I am reminded of that false rumor. For example, how can you not think about it after watching yet another hilarious moment from the game show?

Just in case you forgot how awful Showgirls is?
February 10th, 2015 under Saved by the Bell/City Guys. [ Comments: 1 ]

It has been 20 years, yes two decades, since Showgirls came out and CinemaSins wanted to remind how horrible it is by showing us everything that is wrong with it. There is so much wrong with it that it took them over 22 minutes to showcase all of its flaws.
So if you don’t remember how painful it was to watch to sit through the movie with Elizabeth Berkley in it, just watch the above video. It is a lot less traumatic, but it will still be etched in your memory for at least another 20 years.
