Does the Fifty Shades of Grey trailer get you excited?
November 13th, 2014 under Fifty Shades. [ Comments: none ]

The first full trailer is out for the very much anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey and does it turn you on?
I wish I could say that the movie that’s coming out on Valentine’s Day is making me hot, but the casting is so bad I can’t get any fulfillment out of the trailer. Dakota Johnson is just too blah for the role. The mousy brown dye job makes her seem more mousy, and that was not Anastasia Steele. What do you think?
If you are that turned off for the film, then we have an alternate to watch that day. Old Fashioned is an old fashioned love story, and some people will be seeking that out on February 14th instead of the Red Room!

There’s going to be a special place in hell for Conan O’Brien!
November 13th, 2014 under Conan O'Brien, Sesame Street/Muppets. [ Comments: none ]

The thing I love most about Conan O’Brien is he does bits that are so bad, you know he is going to go to hell for them.
His latest one is in honor of Sesame Street’s 45th anniversary, and he had Ernie getting his first colonoscopy. That is awful enough, but the conversation between the TBS late night host and the popular puppet takes it to a whole new level. Especially when they go there. There as in they make a joke in reference to Ernie having something up his bum, you know the one I am talking about. That wisecrack is the funniest thing from this segment, but it is not the worst, I mean best, I mean I don’t know. There are so many emotions after watching that and the biggest one is happiness from laughing so hard!
If that justify my headline, then this other bit from yesterday’s show will. I don’t think this segment about the musical Bears in our Pool needs explanation. It is as ridiculous as you think it is going to be and worse than you can imagine, but it is so brilliant you can’t help but to love it.
It is things like this that make Conan’s show almost too much for me to bear. But then again these gags definitely make my days sunny and keep the clouds away.

The McCarthys creator might love Good Wife more than his show?
November 13th, 2014 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE4W3yHwGgw
Tonight at 9:30p on CBS’s The McCarthys Ronnie (Tyler Ritter) tells his mom (Laurie Metcalf) that he can’t watch The Good Wife with her because he needs to go over basketball plays with his dad (Jack McGee). Let’s just say, she doesn’t take to him skipping out her too well and the rest of the family suffers because of it. Their suffering is our reward just like this sitcom about a typical Boston family.
The Good Wife has been an intricate part of the show, just like basketball, so does the show’s creator, Brian Gallivan, love the legal drama as much as the character he created about himself does? He told me on a conference call, “I’m obsessed with it, and my mother is too.” Sadly because they are on different coasts and timezones, they don’t get to watch as he puts it, “It’s my favorite show on television, maybe even above the McCarthys.” At that point Tyler Ritter, who plays him, was not that happy about his boss’ confession and you can’t blame him. Although he quickly got over it and understood why he feels that way. You know, since in a way he needs to get in to Brian’s brain in order to do his job, so he knows what he is thinking.
As I mentioned the show is based on Gallivan’s family, but how much of it is like his real family. He said, “It is based on my life, it’s loosely inspired by my family. They require me to say that. Jokingly, I think, I don’t know. It can be tough. And you know, a lot of the basics are true.” So what are those basics? He explained, “I’m sort of the one gay son, I actually have more siblings, I have three brothers and two sisters in real life, so the characters are sort of a mixture of qualities and quirks from my real siblings scattered about. And my dad was a very successful high school basketball coach in Boston, and three of my siblings coach basketball, and I didn’t.”
How do they feel about the show now that it is airing their third episode tonight? He shared with us, “They love it. They’re so excited and they’re, they love Tyler, they think he’s great and they love everybody.” Then he concluded their reaction by saying, “So they’re having a blast. And of course, making it somehow connected to basketball even when it doesn’t.”
And here’s a basketball reference from me, The McCarthy’s a slam dunk. So make sure to watch it tonight and every Thursday at 9:30p on CBS.

J-Law whispers naughty things into David Letterman’s ear!
November 13th, 2014 under David Letterman, Hunger Games. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5PCUHmZsjU
Jennifer Lawrence is one of the few younger actors who really gets David Letterman excited about interviewing again and she didn’t disappoint yesterday on The Late Show.
Their chat started off with him telling her he really liked her friends backstage, and then she told the CBS late night host about the first time she met one of them. She explained that the first time she saw the girl, she said the dirtiest thing she ever heard and he was obsessed about knowing what it was. The Oscar winner said it is too dirty to say on television, so she whispered it to him in his ear. He quickly showed his excitement to what she just said and made a dirty hand gesture with his fingers, but I don’t think on purpose.
And the interview just gets better or worse, depending how you look at it, from there. So spend the next 20 minutes watching one of the greatest late night interviews in a while. Plus, you want to see Letterman’s reaction to when she asks him, “You want to get out of here?”

Today in London, the Guinness Book of World Records‘ Tallest Living Man, Sultan Kösen who is 8’3″, met the man who is in that same book as the Shortest Living Man, Chandra Bahadur Dangi who’s 21.5″; and their meeting is of epic proportions. To see their height difference like that is quite incredible and fascinating. Doesn’t it just put a smile on your face?
