August 16th, 2014 under ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Matt Bomer, USA Network. [ Comments: none ]

Matt Bomer is the latest celebrity to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Instead of pouring the freezing cold water on his head, he had his three sons, Henry, Walker and Kit, do the honor. Between their giggling and his shock, this is the cutest one of them all.

Mark Zuckerberg challenged Bill Gates who challenges Elon Musk!
August 15th, 2014 under ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. [ Comments: none ]

You know the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has gone as far as it can go when Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, challenged, Bill Gates to do it. Although the man who gave us Microsoft did find one last person to challenge and that person is Elon Musk, inventor extraordinaire. So who is left for the father of PayPal to challenge? I don’t think there is anyone else. So we have reached that plateau. Or so it seems???
Now when it comes to Bill Gates, I said earlier today unless you can top Conan O’Brien, don’t do it and just donate the $100. Well, I can honestly say I think the computer genius turned philanthropist, did better than the talk show host! Who would’ve thought he was so funny?

Jerry O’Connell, daytime talk show host, Man in the Middle?
August 15th, 2014 under Jerry O'Connell/Rebecca Romijn. [ Comments: none ]

Jerry O’Connell is one of the nicest people in Hollywood and everyone loves him! So when I read on The TV Page that he is testing a daytime talk show called Man in the Middle, I just had to share the wonderful news with you. This, besides acting, is what he was born to do.
I remember when I interviewed him; he actually wound up interviewing me. He was listening to every word I was saying, and asking me relevant questions. Now as I look back at that experience, I can see that he is going to be a great host of a show like this.
In addition, he is so warm to strangers and makes them feel welcomed. The first time I saw him was at Jimmy Kimmel Live’s green room after I saw a press screening of Piranha 3D. He actually walked the room and shook everyone’s hand to say hi. I’ve never saw a guest do that before or after in any of the green rooms that I have been in. Another story like that about him, is my friend was an extra on that Veronica Mars movie; and she told me he was the only one who introduced himself to all of the extras on the set. To me that is a quality very few talk show hosts possess, and I wish more of them did. And I’ve been going to talk shows since I was a teenager in NYC, so I know.
So what is the premise behind Man in the Middle? Here’s the description from OCATV, “Jerry will be joined by celebrity co-hosts and celebrity guests and tickets to join them in the live audience are FREE! If you’re a woman who loves love pop-culture, celebrity stories, what was on TV last night, and want to share your life stories then this show is for you! There will also be audience games and prizes.”
If you want to see him try his hand at hosting, free tickets are available for the show’s tapings this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at OCATV. Besides seeing him, a few of the celebrities that are part of the shows are DL Hughley, Busy Phillips, Joel McHale and Joe Manganiello. Not a bad group of guests for a taping. So why not go and let’s get this show picked up!
When it gets picked up, I know I will be watching because his personality is so addictive and I know this show will be unlike any of the other ones. As in it will be the one daytime talk show that everyone will be able to watch and enjoy whenever it is on.

When being a fly in a newsroom is a bad thing!
August 15th, 2014 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

So a BBC Scotland reporter was reporting on some breaking news, but the real story was happening right in front of him. A fly was trapped in a spider’s web and the owner pf it came for his meal while the guy was on the air. So whatever the anchor was saying was completely lost due to the distraction. Oh, what a tangled web we weave.
