The season premiere of The Neighbors is out of this world!
September 20th, 2013 under ABC. [ Comments: none ]

Last year for some reason a lot of people didn’t tune into watch The Neighbors every week and they missed on the best written comedy on television. There is so much quick wit, self-deprecation, heart and laughs in each episode and yet you didn’t watch. Well you can make up for your mistake at 8:30p tonight and watch the season premiere for a show that isn’t suffering from the sophomore slump.
It has been a year since The Weavers moved into the Hidden Hills gated community and Larry Bird (Simon Templeman) and Jackie Joyner-Kersee (Toks Olagundoye) have gone over to Debbie (Jami Gertz) and Marty’s (Lenny Venito) house to celebrate their anniversary together. But what they will all get is a surprise when they see their teenage children, Reggie Jackson (Tom Jo) and Amber Weaver (Clara Mamet) kissing. Now the aliens and the humans have to figure out how they are going to handle their children dating.
A solution that can only be solved with a daylong conference in the Bird/Joyner-Kersee’s underground conference room. Let’s just say it anything but ordinary and The Weavers will have to go through some great measures to get to this high-tech room.
Once they are there, they will deliberate on whether or not Amber and Reggie should or should not continue dating. Cute little Dick Butkus (Ian Patrick) runs the meeting with an iron fist and that means not letting Jerry Springer put in his two cents whenever he wants to. That’s Jerry Springer is there. And he is not the biggest surprise guest on tonight’s episode, that person will change everything and that is all I can tell you for now.
Well that and you have to watch because I sincerely don’t remember the last time I enjoyed a sitcom this much. It sincerely is a smart show with on-the-mark acting and it’s a comedy that everyone in the family can enjoy together. There are life lessons, there are touching moments and most importantly there are a lot of laughs. What more do you need?
Plus it is on right before Shark Tank, and here is a little inside tip there is a crossover episode coming up later on in the season between the two shows.
Now when it comes to Shark Tank’s season premiere at 9p there are some cool products on the show. So cool, I actually want to buy some. First off there is a guy who has come up with an app that will let you turn your pictures into postcards and send them to your friends and family. Two women who make gourmet pickles and they had me at gourmet pickles. Two brothers that are also doctors who have come up with a way to connect doctors and patients with social media. And finally two guys who one-upped cake pops. One pitch will be so bad that investors declare it the worst pitch in the show’s history. And another one of these 4 pitches will be so good that it will literally split the panel in 2. It will be 2 against 3 investors fighting for one product. What will that/those investors do? You will just have to tune in to find out in an episode that will have you wanting what they are selling.

Is Super Fun Night in super trouble?
September 20th, 2013 under Rebel WIlson. [ Comments: none ]

When Paul Lee, president of ABC Entertainment Group, announced that he was doing a sitcom with Rebel Wilson, his excitement for it got us all excited. Then we watched the pilot and our excitement waned. I guess those of us who saw it weren’t the only ones who were disappointed with it because less than 2 weeks before the series premiere, the network has opted to air the second episode instead of the pilot. Most of the time when this happens, the show is in trouble. And who knows, maybe episode 2 is a whole lot better and will sway us towards liking the show. But after reading this description for it, “Kimmie wants the gang to broaden their horizons and try something they’ve never done before. But she’s not so brave when she finds out their next super fun night destination is a piano bar. Can she face her biggest fear, singing in public?”, I don’t think that will be the case.
I am still hoping that show has gotten better as they started to film more episodes because I like Wilson and Conan O’Brien, but the pilot was such a let down that I am not sure I even want to watch the second episode. Although I kind of like the second episode of Dads and I hated that pilot the first go around. So maybe there is a glimmer of hope for the show?

Morena Baccarin will sit through the Emmys even if she’s in labor!
September 20th, 2013 under Jimmy Kimmel. [ Comments: none ]

Morena Baccarin is about have her baby any second now, and she is not going to let that stop her from attending the Emmys on Sunday. She told Jimmy Kimmel last night that if she goes into labor during the telecast she will stay to see if she wins Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama series for her role on Homeland. In fact she has worked up a plan if her little Emmy or Em decides to make their debut during TV’s biggest night. She will “wait it out, cross my legs and hold it tight.” Then as soon as the show is over, her doctor will be waiting in the limo to assist her on the way to the hospital.
So when you watch the Emmys on Sunday to listen for her screams because her baby might be telling her he is ready for his closeup. If we get lucky he might be the first baby born to a celebrity during an awards show!

Conan O’Brien plays Grand Theft Auto V
September 20th, 2013 under Conan O'Brien. [ Comments: none ]

People were on line (you know physically standing outside a place and away from their Playstations and X-Boxes) for days to own their very own copy of Grand Theft Auto V. Well Conan O’Brien was one of those people who actually got his hands on the videogame and he played it for us so we can see if it is worth buying.
Things we learned about the TBS late night host is that he can’t drive, is willing to leave his friends behind and he loves going back to strip clubs he has been kicked out more than getting a lap dance by two strippers.
So do I want to buy the game? No, I am girl who isn’t in to videogames. Do I want to watch him playing the game over and over again? Hell yeah because I don’t remember the last time I laughed that hard.

Nothing is too skanky for Hugh Jackman’s wanky!
September 20th, 2013 under Hugh Jackman, Jimmy Fallon. [ Comments: none ]

Hugh Jackman was a guest on Late Night yesterday and Jimmy Fallon challenged him to an arm wrestling match. Well you already know who is going to win because I don’t think anyone but The Rock or the guys from The Expendables franchise could actually beat the Wolverine without his claws.
But before Jackman took the NBC late night host’s arm as his prisoner, the two men said what they would do when the won. While most are pretty lame, the last one from the X-Men made watching the inevitable loss well worth it. Seriously who doesn’t love hearing Jackman (which gives his last name new meaning), “There’s nothing too swanky for my wanky!”
