When Bono met Sonny Bono! |
September 26th, 2013 under David Letterman, U2. [ Comments: 1 ]

Bono was on The Late Show tonight and David Letterman asked him meeting the late Sonny Bono. So the U2 singer told him about the time the two of them were riding in an elevator and when Cher’s ex-husband exited he said to him, “BTW it’s Bo-no, not Ba-no.” and the doors closed. I wonder what the humanitarian would’ve said to the politician if the doors didn’t shut?
Seriously that story is all types of awesome in so many ways! It is such a shame that we lost Sonny Bono as early as we did because there was so much he could’ve given us.

He looks
Before Robin Williams was sent from Ork to explore Earth on Mork & Mindy, he was an Earthing exploring Earth on The Richard Pryor Show. Even when he was 25 in that 1977 sketch comedy, you could tell he was the comedic genius he is today!

You’ll be crazy for The Crazy Ones! |
September 26th, 2013 under Robin Williams. [ Comments: none ]

When I was a little girl, I watched a show called Mork & Mindy and developed a crush on an actor named Robin Williams. Now I am grown woman and that love is still there. So when I heard he was coming back to TV on weekly basis in a show called The Crazy Ones, I went crazy for the idea. Then I watched the pilot as soon as I got it and I have watched it more times than I count since then.
I am so happy that tonight at 9p on CBS, you will get to see this show that I can’t stop watching over and over and over again. Not only because Robin Williams is in it and because it was created by the brilliant David E Kelly, but because it is a feel good show that everyone can enjoy and fall in love with it. It is what Robin Williams is, that lovable guy who just makes you smile when you see him and/or think about him.
On tonight’s season premiere the top advertising agency, Roberts & Roberts, is fighting to keep their account with McDonald’s and all the fast food chain wants to do is fire them. So the unorthodox and charming Simon (Williams) reminds them of that warm feeling people got with the You Deserve a Break Today campaign and tells them they should modernize for today’s consumer. Well that feeling when you hear the music that was in that real ad and the smile the images brought to your face when you saw them, well that is the emotion you will get when you watch this show.
Or maybe it is just the way that Williams plays Simon. Now Simon runs the agency, but he is not the only person who works there or on the show. Simon’s daughter, Sydney (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is the creative director and she’s much different than her dad. She is much more serious and by the book. She is the Yin to her father’s Yang and it because of that the company is still around. And it is their relationship that will keep you turning into this show.
Then there is Zach Cooper (James Wolk) who is a young Simon, he is suave, charming and a lady killer. It is for all of those reasons that Simon has made him his right hand man and when they are together you know that there is going to be trouble. And sometimes trouble can be a good thing.
Lauren (Amanda Setton) is the assistant and she has fallen under Simon and Zach’s spell and Sydney tries to keep grounded. It is also her naïvety that reminds Simon who he was and who he is.
So today they will all get together and try to save McDonald’s and somehow Kelly Clarkson becomes the meat in their Big Mac. So be prepared to see a different side of her tonight. A side, I personally love and hope she considers taking on.
So as McDonalds once said “You deserve a break today”, so why not get it with The Crazy Ones tonight and every Thursday 9p on CBS.
The best way for me to sum up this show is that back when I was a senior in high school, I had to decide whether to major in advertising or journalism. So I watched a movie called called Crazy People, and I majored in Advertising. Then when I graduated, I went into journalism and never looked back. That is until I watched the pilot for The Crazy Ones and now I am suddenly unsure if I made the right choice to not go into advertising.

Michael J Fox is returning to TV in a self-title show tonight at 9p on NBC and it is nice to have him back!
Mike Henry (Fox) is a former newsanchor in NYC, who gave up his job 5 years ago to spend time with his family. Now his wife, Annie (Betsy Brandt) and their kids recent college dropout, Ian (Conor Romero), angst-ridden high schooler, Eve (Juliette Goglia), and cute little Graham (Jack Gore) all want him to go back to work. So they come up with a way to have him meet up with his old boss, Harris Green (Wendell Pierce), who would love to have him back on KNBC’s air. Mike didn’t realize until their meeting that he missed working, so when given the chance to go back to work he takes him up on the offer.
So now Mike is dealing with how to spend time with his family while he works. And they learn to deal with him back at the grind.
NBC wants to make sure this show does well, so they are giving it a special one-hour premiere, the second episode airs at 9:30p (its regularly scheduled time). During this episode, Mike goes upstairs to his neighbor’s to tell them to turn the really loud television down. He assumes that it is an older man, but is surprised when it turns out to be Tracy Pollan who is on the other side of the door. No he develops a crush on her and his wife is jealous. So Annie decides to set her up with Harris, something Mike doesn’t like.
Now Mike might not like that, but we will love this show that is shot documentary style with candid confidential moments between the family members with the camera throughout the show. This is the perfect show to bring Michael J Fox back to television, so tune into watch it every Thursday from here on out at 9:30p
