It is the day after Halloween, so now it is time to start getting ready for Christmas. And what is one of the best ways to do that? Watching a movie that will get you into the Holiday Spirit. Well today on Video On Demand you can rent the future holiday classic All I Want is Christmas and after you watch it you will wish that tomorrow is December 25th not that it is almost 2 months away!
Ira Finkelstein (Elijah Nelson) lives in Malibu with his parents and all he wants for Christmas is to have a white one. Only problems are, is that it doesn’t snow in California and he is Jewish.
It is a few days before X-Mas and Ira’s parents said they will take him away on family trip to where it snows. But then Ira’s mom (Angela DiMarco) gets a holiday party planning job for a celebrity and his dad (David DeLuise) convinces the star to be in his movie and they have to shoot immediately. That means their Chanukah trip is off and Ira is now going to go to spend the time with his grandparents, who haven’t seen him in years, in Florida instead. That is so not what he wants to do.
Well after his parents drop him off at the airport he meets Mikey (Justin Howell), a boy who is going to visit his cousins in Christmastown, Wa and like Ira he hasn’t seen them in years. Mikey wants to go somewhere that is warm, so Ira comes up with a plan that they switch places. So now Mikey is going to Florida and Ira is off to Washington.
Will the two boys get want they truly want Christmas? Will their plan work or will they get caught? Will they have a nice Christmas? You will have to watch this movie that is sweeter than Sugar Plums and Chanukah Gilt!
Seriously All I Want is Christmas is such an enjoyable film that you will want to watch it over and over again. I can’t remember the last time I saw movie as feel good as this one and isn’t that what this season is all about?
Yesterday David Letterman had some kids stop by The Late Show set to go Trick or Treating and they definitely had on some interesting costumes that you have never seen before and never will again. Kids will go as almost anything on Halloween, but I am not sure how many of them are lining to dress up like what the children wore on the CBS late night show. Now even though they wouldn’t wear those disguises, I would totally dress my kids up as some them!
Which was your favorite? I loved the one with the two little girls towards the end!
Mike Tyson Tweeted the above picture and I so want to know what is happening in it. Is he blowing into Eli Roth’s ear? Or did The Champ confuse the Cabin Fever director with Evander Holyfield and try to take a bite out of his ear? Bette Midler went as the Ghost of Coco Chanel for the 17th Annual NYRP Halloween Benefit Gala and I didn’t even know it was the Divine Miss M at first. I am not sure if is the white skin or the dark hair, but she looks nothing like the woman we got to know in The Rose. And because of that I absolutely loved her ingenious costume!
Jimmy Kimmel is doing Jimmy Kimmel Live from Brooklyn this week and he got to interview the man who he has idolized since he was a teen. When he was a wee one, he could only dream of doing what David Letterman was doing and now he does just that. Kimmel has said he really wanted to interview him, but he was also very nervous to do because he revered him so much. Well yesterday the dream became a reality and it was so nice to see the equal admiration they have for each other as they chatted. Although you could totally tell that ABC late night host was extremely nervous being the one in the big chair. Now having said that, I think it made the interview even more endearing.
I also thought it was very touching how the CBS late night host let Kimmel know he welcomes him as direct competition come January. He didn’t have to say it, but it was nice to hear him acknowledge it. I am sure that made Kimmel more at ease about that.
Maybe if Jimmy gets really lucky, Letterman will take him up on his offer and move in with him for a month! But I am not sure Kimmel would be able to handle that much excitement.
