Chistian Bale redeems himself
July 24th, 2012 under Batman, Christian Bale. [ Comments: none ]

A few years ago Christian Bale was known for doing something bad, but today he negated all of that by doing something very good from the bottom of his heart. Bale flew to Aurora, Co on his own dime and visited several people who were injured in Friday's shooting according to the Denver Post. He did not do it for publicity, but the injured people and the hospital workers leaked that he was there. Not only did he spend time at the hospital, he also went to the shooting location. He didn't have to do it, but he chose to on his own. And because of that I respect the hell out of him. We need more actors like him because what he did brought a lot of people that really need it.

BTWF Broadway Shows: Sherman Hemsley in Purlie
July 24th, 2012 under Before They Were Famous. [ Comments: none ]

(starts at 5:00 in)

Before Sherman Hemsley was a Deacon on Amen, he was just attending a church in Purlie. How cool was it to see the 32 year old actor to sing and dance at the Tonys in 1970.

Anthony Anderson gets to kiss his childhood crush on Guys with Kids
July 24th, 2012 under Anthony Anderson, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Today is the NBC’s press day and we got to hear the cast and producers talk about Guys with Kids. The NBC comedy was supposed to be called DILFs according to first time show runner Jimmy Fallon, but as much as the network liked the idea for the sitcom they were not allowed to call it that. Fallon described how the show came about, “Amy and I, who is my producing partner, we were just talking about all the guys that we were seeing around New York City and Time Square, like with the Baby Bjorns and the babies on the backs of their bikes, and I was saying, like, these are like young good looking guys. They’re just embracing the role of dad, and we both said at the same time “DILFs.” Having seen the pilot that debuts on Wednesday, September 26th at 8:30p, I can tell you that observation turns in to a very funny show.
One of the big reasons this show is so funny is because Anthony Anderson is a part of it. And a bonus for the Hang Time star to be part of this show is, “another reason that I took the job. And I get to kiss my childhood crush. She bites my bottom lip on occasion.” That crush is Tempestt Bledsoe from The Cosby Show, who plays his wife and she responded to that by saying, “He’s always accusing me of biting him.” He then took back what he said and changed it to, “Okay. It was a gentle suck.” And with that she was OK.
Here is an interesting part about the show, there were 14 babies involved with the pilot to play all the kids on the show. Co-show creator Amy Ozols said it was like a daycare center on the set. And on that note Zach Cregger who plays Nick says that Jesse Bradford didn’t know how to hold a baby before this show. To which the Hostel star answered back with “I’m trying to learn. I’m trying to learn. He’s going to be fine. We talked about this.” You will have to tune in on Wednesdays to see if he finally learned how to hold a baby. That and to watch a funny show that everyone in the family can enjoy.

RIP Sherman Hemsley
July 24th, 2012 under Obits. [ Comments: none ]

Sherman Hemsley passed away today at the age of 74 in El Paso, Texas according to TMZ. The actor was best known for playing George Jeffersons on All in the Family and the spinoff The Jeffersons and Deacon Frye on Amen. Since the 1970s he has been making us laugh out loud because The Jeffersons has been airing every day since it launched. I know that for a fact because every morning my DVR records it on TV One. I will greatly miss him because I have had a huge crush on him since I was a little kid. I am so happy that I met him a few years ago and he was nice as you would expect him to be.
So today take a moment and remember him by watching him on one of his famous sitcoms, I know I will be. Thank you so much Sherman Hemsley for all of the laughs!
