I love William Shanter and I think he is the Shat, but when it comes to him singing Black Sabbath’s Iron Man I think it is sh!t. I get that the 80 year old man can do almost anything, and I have liked some of his past songs, but what do you say that. I am thoroughly scared for the release of Seeking Major Tom when it comes out next Tuesday. There are a lot of interesting covers on it, but I didn’t need to hear Steve Howe destroy Duran Duran’s Planet Earth. I do that every day in the shower myself.
When I saw the promos for tonight’s season premiere of House on Fox at 8p, I thought it was going to be like the one when he was in a mental institution except that he in jail this time. Well it is different than that episode, but I can’t say I enjoyed the show. I think it is because I am still bitter how they ended last season with him ramming his car into Cuddy’s house thus causing him to do time.
What I liked about the show is that he solves medical cases, I don’t really care that much about his personal life. Something the show has been dedicating more and more time to. I miss the days when he would work in the clinic and go off on the patients. It was those interactions that made the show different and they have been missing…at least by me.
Hopefully now that Cuddy (I will miss Lisa Edlestein) is out, the new head of Princeton-Plainsboro will make him work the clinic. That is House will go back to work there? Since tonight’s episode hints that he might not. But I don’t want to spoil what happens because they say what happens behind bars, stays behind bars.
Seth Rogen finally married his girlfriend Lauren Miller after dating for nearly 7 years. The two tied on Saturday in Somona, Ca with several of his co-stars like Jonah Hill and Paul Rudd in attendance. Sounds like a fun wedding because a source told Us Weekly, “The wedding was more laughs than anything else. Every other line was a joke and the crowd couldn’t contain their laughter. It was nonstop fun!” Hopefully they will be laughing at the 50/50 odds that are against them for working out because personally I like that he is off the market.
We live in a world where we can record anything we want at any given time with out phones, iPads and Flips, and there have been some negative consequences for it. Tonight at 9p in the movie Girl Fight on Lifetime we will see one such example.
Haley Macklin is 16 year old teen who like most teens wants to be part of the popular group. Once she is in, she will find out be careful what you ask for. The girls turn on each other as often as they change clothes and when Haley becomes their target she will pay a price that no one deserves. She is attacked by several of her so called friends and they record the whole incident on their cameras in hopes of putting the beating online and becoming famous. After the attack the girls drop Haley off and tell her not to tell anyone. Bruised and bleeding in her hospital bed, she reveals who her attackers are and now she will be attacked over and over again. Now her ex-friends are popular for a different reason and was it really worth it.
I think that all parents should tune in to this telemovie and explain to their kids there is no reason for fighting and that by recording such an incident or any incident like that should never ever be done because it only cause more violence. Don’t get me wrong, I love having pocketsized camcorders where ever I go, I just think we have a responsibility to be careful what we use it for and where we share the contents.
