Ever since Charlie Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men and the show was picked up for another season with Ashton Kutcher joining the show, we have wondered how the CBS show would write off Charlie Harper. Well TMZ is reporting that they are going to kill him off in the season premiere.
So did they hit the nail on the coffin, I mean head. Co-executive producer Lee Aronsohn, who was not publicly ridiculed by his former star, took to Twitter to talk about the report and in doing so proved why he works in comedy! He Tweeted, “TMZ is wrong. Charlie Harper doesn’t die in a car crash. Ep. 1 will reveal he changed his name to Chaim and joined a kibbutz.” OMG, I wish and hope that is how they opt to get rid of him because that would be absolutely brilliant. Don’t you agree?
When it comes to how they will chose to get rid of him, I think we have to wait until the show comes back to find out because it will be one of the most guarded secrets in television since the Lost finale.
If they choose to have Charlie Harper meet his maker on 2.5, it would not be the first time that a sitcom went that way after the star was fired. When a reported salary dispute lead to Valarie Harper being fired, they killed her off in a house fire and Valerie became The Hogan Family. The show went on for a few more seasons without her. Will Two and a Half Men be as lucky if they put their nemesis 6 feet under?
Before Oliver Platt was reporting on crime in Deadline, he was part of one on Miami Vice. He looks the same now as he did when he was 28 in that 1988 episode.

NBC announced the two actors who will be replacing Chris Meloni, who opted not to return for the 13 season, and Mariska Hargitay, who is rumored to be leaving the show after 13 more episodes, on Law & Order: SVU. But before she leaves she will have to spend her time investigating who these two actors. The first is Danny Pino, who was on Cold Case. You know that old skewing show on CBS that no one under 50 was watching. The second is an actress who has killed the last two shows she was lead on before they were even able to get close to a second season. You won’t remember them so IMDB, Past Life and Chase.
Hearing who those two names are, I think Dick Wolf better come up with a new Law & Order ASAP or after over 20 years NBC will Law & Order-free after this upcoming season.
Although the Chairman of NBC Entertainment said this about them, “Kelli and Danny are two great actors who will join a proven cast headed by Mariska Hargitay as this exceptional series heads into a very promising 13th season.” Promising how?
Will you watch Law & Order: SVU with these two new unknowns? I mean Pino is easy on the eyes, but not easy enough for me to watch the ageing show.
After watching the red band trailer for Horrible Bosses, I think I will break my “I won’t see any movie with Jennifer Aniston in it in the theaters” rule when it comes out on July 8th because that movie looks sincerely funny. I really think that even with all those A-List names and Oscar winners in it, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Charlie Day is going to be the break out star from it. How funny was he in the trailer?
The Big C is back on Showtime tonight at 10:30p and you are not going to want to miss the best new dramedy of the year.
Cathy (played brilliantly by Laura Linney) has skin cancer, the bad kind, and she hasn’t told anyone about it including her estranged husband and teenage son. Knowing that she is knocking on heaven’s door, she is finding herself free to say and do whatever she wants to. Finally she shares the news with her old grumpy neighbor Marleen and the two forge a strange relationship. That is until Maureen, who suffers from Alzheimer’s kills herself. Even though she is dead, she will be back on the show for the second season.
One person Cathy has kept her secret is her homeless brother, who slept with her best friend and she is now pregnant with their love child. How long will she be able to keep her secret from them now that they are living across the street from her in her dead neighbor’s house?
Two people she is no longer keeping her news from is her husband and son and she is finally trying experimental treatment to beat the cancer. That is how the first season ends and where the second one picks up. How is the treatment affecting her and her family? There will be a lot of changes in store for all of them.
The Big C is a drama, but there are also plenty of laughs in between the tears. Unlike many shows this show is actually better than it was its first second. There is so much I want to share about the second season, but I want you to experience it as it happens as I did.
BTW if Laura Linney doesn’t get the Emmy nomination and the win for this role than the people who are voting are bigger idiots than I already think they are. She is so freaking perfect in this role, she deserves as many awards as possible for her performance on the show. And the show also deserves several awards because it is so real and yet enjoyable.
Seriously whether you have watched The Big C before or this will be your first time, you need to make sure it is a weekly commitment every Monday night at 10:30p on Showtime.
