BTWF roles: Adam Baldwin in My Bodyguard
January 18th, 2010 under Before They Were Famous. [ Comments: none ]

Before Adam Baldwin was Casey, the spy who liked to kill people on Chuck, he wasn’t much of a fighter in My Bodyguard. He looks exactly the same now as he did when he was just 17 in that 1980 movie…expect now he has shorter hair!!!

So here is a Before They Were Famous first, I actually got to talk Adam Baldwin about this role before I posted it. I was going through the Chuck cast to do a BTWF as many of them as possible and I had Adam’s already to go, but before I posted it I ran into him at the NBC party at the TCA Winter Press tour day, so I was able to ask him about it!

When I asked him what it was like to work on his first movie My Bodyguard, he had this to say, “Well the movie My Bodyguard gave me the career, a lease on life, that I had no idea was coming my way, so I feel very lucky and blessed to have been part of it. Especially to be put under the care of guys like Tony Bill and Don Devlin, who was Dean Devlin’s father, the late great Don Devlin, who invited me into a wonderful movie…I guess I wouldn’t be standing here today without those guys. So lucky!”

When I told him I would be showing the above scene where he is getting beat up as compared to his character Chuck where he is the strong guy, he said to me, “Well then I was just a kid. Now I am man! I’m 40, man! I’m a man!” And at 6’4″ he is definitely a man. And in person there is no doubting that he is the man, a strong, good looking man!

BTW if you have never seen The Bodyguard, rent it now! It is one of those great movies that you can watch over and over again and it is forever timeless. On a personal note, this was my grandfather’s favorite film, so actually being able to interview someone that was part of it and to talk to them about it meant so much to me. So I can’t thank Adam Baldwin enough for doing that!
And next week you can read about what he told me about the show is doing now…Chuck that airs every Monday at 8p on NBC!!!

Taxi star Jeff Conaway was badly injured when he fell down the stairs at his home earlier today. His girlfriend Vicki told TMZ that he “suffered a broken hip, a broken arm, a fractured neck and a brain hemorrhage.” She also told them he was going to undergo surgery for his broken hip. Hopefully as he recovers from these injuries he doesn’t get back into the drug habit he had that led him two several rehab stints including two on Celebrity Rehab.

Mo’Nique why are you showing your unshaven legs?
January 18th, 2010 under Bad Hair. [ Comments: 4 ]

I thought with this being awards season and the attire for women being gowns down to the floor that we wouldn’t see the multi-nominated Mo’Nique’s hairy legs. And even though she was wearing a floor length gown, she still decided to lift it up and show us that she doesn’t shave her legs. All I want to know is why? I know not every culture believes that woman needs to shave her legs, but ours does so why reveal it? Largely because if her legs are that hairy, I don’t even want to imagine what is like where the two legs meet. Yeah I went there, and if I went there I am sure I am not the only one that did.

Expect Life UneXpected to be your latest addiction
January 18th, 2010 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight on The CW at 9p the sweetest new show of the season Life Unexpected is going to premiere and you are not going to want to miss it. The show is about Lux, who has spent her whole life in foster care and now that she is almost 16 she wants to file for emancipation from the system. In order to do so she has to find her birth parents to file the paperwork, but she finds out so much more when she finds them. First she meets her dad, Baze who owns a bar that she bonds with and then he takes her to meet her mom, Cate Cassidy. Cate is popular morning radio host who hasn’t told anyone that she had a kid in high school that she gave up for adoption including her co-host who just proposed to her. When her parents go with her to court the judge makes a ruling that will change all of their lives, she orders Lux to live with her birth parents. The three of them adjust to their new life together and along the way Lux will meet her grandparents and her parents will adjust to their new roles and each other.
Lux is a well written show by Liz Tigelaar. This is the first show that Liz has created that has made it to air and it won’t be her last. She really has a knack for good TV, so get to see how much so tonight at 9p on The CW!

Jennifer Aniston’s bad hair and dress day
January 18th, 2010 under Friends (cast). [ Comments: 1 ]

Jennifer Aniston wore a dress with a slit up to crotch to show off her legs, but the Friends’ star didn’t realize that slit would making walking a difficulty. Not only was her dress causing problems for her, but so was her Rachel-like-do that was unruly due to the rain. It is nice to see the normally perfect Aniston, not so perfect!
