As Ricky Gervais said at the end of the Golden Globes the first big screen movie he directed The Invention of Lying is out on DVD, Blu-Ray and for Download today! I can’t lie to you, this is a must own!
The Invention of Lying is a fun movie about a world where no one knows how to lie, but when push comes to shove some how Ricky Gervais knows how to lie and changes the way the world thinks by the tales that he tells. It is fun to watch a world where everyone tells the truth, but I would be totally scared to live in it. Jennifer Garner is absolutely adorable in the movie and she plays her role ever so cute. There are fun smaller roles played by TV stars like Rob Lowe, Jason Bateman and Tina Fey all who are equally funny in the movie.
Besides including this hysterical movie, it also includes some really funny special features and those features makes this movie a must own!
Prequel: The Dawn of Lying: documenting a monumental occasion in history
A Truly “Honest” Making-of Featurette: cast members share their admiration for a comedic genius
Meet Karl Pilkington: Ricky’s best buddy and cohost of The Ricky Gervais Show chronicles his travels to the U.S.
Ricky and Matt’s video podcasts: over 10 minutes of insider coverage
Additional scenes
More laughter: Corpsing and outtakes
The Prequel is a deleted scene from the movie where they are all dressed up as cavemen and we see the first person who was able to lie before Ricky Gervais. We also learn that Ricky is kind of cute with long wavy hair. After watching The Truly Honest Making-of Featurelette I totally want to work with him. He seems like such a fun guy and everyone looked like they were having a blast on the set. I should say almost everyone because Ricky flew out his BFF, Karl Pilkington to be an extra in the movie just to torture it him. The poor guy, but the feature was well worth the watch. Next up are deleted scenes and outtakes and there are a lot of outtakes because you will learn that Ricky can’t stop laughing. I never saw anyone lose it as much as him! And because of that I love him and this DVD even more! So pick it up now because you are going to want to enjoy The Invention of Lying!

Jennifer Lopez took over for George Lopez on his TBS show Lopez Tonight and even though I am not a fan of her’s I actually thought she was funny opening his show. And knowing Jennifer Lopez once she tries something, she makes it her goal to have it for herself. So now I wonder if next year we will find her hosting her own late night talk show? I think there is an opening on NBC, I am not even sure anymore.
BTW talking about NBC and late night here is Jay Leno’s latest comments about it. Do you think he is telling the truth?
Joe Perry told WENN that because of Steven Tyler’s health issues, Aerosmith is left no other option but to look for a temporary replacement until he is well enough to rejoin the band.
“We’re already getting the word out there. The word’s been out there for a while. We’ll start having some auditions, making some phone calls. Hopefully, we’ll have found a new singer by the summer, and Aerosmith will be able to go back out on the road.
“From what I’ve heard, (Tyler) hasn’t left the band. As far as I’m concerned, he hasn’t left the band. He’s never said he was going to leave the band. It’s just that he wanted to go off and do some of his own things. He just never told anybody in the band about it. But his manager has told our manager that he wants to take some time off. And then lately he’s been saying he wants to come back.
“But he has to have leg surgery and foot surgery and it’s basically going to take him out of the picture for about a year, year and a half. So, in the meantime, the rest of the band wants to play. We’re gonna find somebody to get in there and fill that spot. Just like when (bassist) Tom (Hamilton) was sick – we got David Hull to come in and play bass. When (guitarist) Brad (Whitford) was sick, we got somebody else to come in and play for him. That’s basically how I look at it; we need another singer to fill in.”
While I get what Perry is saying about the band having had to use replacements in the past when one of them was out of due to health reasons, there is a huge difference replacing them and replacing the front man that is the sound of the band. Without Steven Tyler belting out their hits, it is almost like seeing a cover band instead of the real thing. I saw Van Halen when Sammy Hagar was their front man and let me tell you with him doing their classic hits it wasn’t the same as when David Lee Roth did them even though the band was backing him. Would you pay good money to see Aerosmith without Tyler?
